Can be great with friends or for an intimate romantic dinner (choose the booth).Great choices for fresh seafood, vegetarian, teak, or lamb specials. Their sampler platter is a good appetizer choice. Save room for the creme brule or tangerine sorbet. All fresh local ingredients. Can be busy on weekends. Only open for dinner. Mid week is very pleasantly quiet, food is fabulouso!

Cafe Gibraltar is just a short 10 minute drive up the coast from Half Moon Bay. A little hard to find, so use your GPS. The food is a bit eclectic, but mostly middle eastern, but the quality!! Every dish we had was outstanding and fresh, the taste combinations stimulating, the preparation excellent. It is considered the finest restaurant on the coast between San Francisco and Monterey. Make a reservation because it often fills up, even on week nights. To top it off, the owners make sure the waitstaff are excellent and every patron treated with care and respect.

This is my favorite restaurant on the coast. The delicious crudos are whatever fish is the most fresh, combined with subtle herbs and spices, every entree is distinctive and the desserts are worth saving space for.

We had a great dinner at Cafe Gibraltar. We got to sit at one of the Moroccan style tables. For our meal we ordered the Accara (black eyed peas fritters), which were fried and a little dense and not really what I was expecting, the artichoke soup, which was good, and my husband had the Crudo, which he enjoyed. For the main meal, we shared the boar entree, which was really delicious. We did get the lavendar creme brulee, which was a little disappointing, as I could not taste the lavendar in the dish. All in all, a good experience. Would recommend making reservations as it does get busy especially on weekends, we could not get a reservation until Tuesday night.
