Swiss Holiday Lodge

When you pay $95 for a room you cannot expect perfection. For a motel in this price range Swiss Lodge met or exceeded expectations. Free wifi worked well even in pool area. Rooms were clean and had some upgrades in the bathroom with new tiles. Nice feature is that rooms have a window both ends and you can see Mt Shasta from your rear motel window. They provided a tiny shampoo name brand Pantene better than many. I agree with one of the other reviewers that beds need an upgrade. Linens were clean but scratchy blankets starting to fray. Mattress was bouncy and soft. Yes you can hear the train honk but it's a way away. Anyone who lives near a train route knows how far that sound travels at night. Otherwise the hotel is quiet and surrounded by lovely lawns, on a quiet road. Small pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast is typical for a motel of this sort. Danish pastry in a plastic wrap, some fresh, fruit, bagels toast. Overall I am giving this 4 stars compared to other motels in this price range. The owners would need to upgrade beds and linen to get another star

The hotel was easily accessible off the highway and a few minutes outside of Mount Shasta. Check in and out was painless. Staff did not seem as knowledgable as expected about things to do in the area. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The room was clean but could use upgrades on linens. If you are in mount shasta in the winter would suggest somewhere closer to town due to the possibility of bad road conditions. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the cost fit the room quality

The view of Mt. Shasta from this motel was incredible. The grounds are well cared for and in great shape. Now the beds were horrible. Did not sleep much that night with the springs feeling like they were poking me and the train going past (I think it is on the other side of the highway but sounded like it was right outside). Left the windows open because I was concerned about using the air conditioner. The bathroom was beautifully redone but very small. The owners were very nice. For a more comfortable stay for their clientele they should get new beds.

Last minute booking and glad we had found these motel to stay for a night on our way back to NorCal. Very clean, Amazing view of Mt Shasta from our back window. Reasonable price for a motel, very well maintained, quiet neighborhood and not that far from freeway exits. Will definitely keep these in our future preference of motels.

I've stayed here many years - before and after an annual camping trip - and always look forward to returning. Wonderful family runs the lodge, very accommodating, and they are always making improvements. Rooms aren't huge, but the spectacular view makes up for it. Just minutes from town, with a nice family restaurant just across the street. A great deal for the price!

We have stayed here at least 8 times, and the owners are so courteous, friendly. Our rooms are nice, bathrooms have recently been updated. I love that they take dogs and there is an area to walk them. My only complaint is the breakfast could be improved, but that has not stopped us from staying there. Beautiful views of Mt. Shasta from the windows out back.

Room Tip: First floor is good w dogs!

On a quick trip to Northern California from Portland, Oregon and wanted to stay at a moderately priced motel (saving our money for a fantastic dinner at Cafe Maddelena in Dunsmir, down the road). WOW, we found the ideal spot at this motel. Clean, immaculate grounds, friendly staff. Sure, the furniture is right out of a motel movie, but honestly, it's just right for this place. Great shower; comfortable mattress, super Wi-Fi connection. Couldn't be happier for an inexpensive place to stay.
