Loved this quaint little place. A friend and i stayed and enjoyed the Inn and surrounding area immensly. Clean with great service. Breakast is continental, but with blueberry pancakes or waffles. Beds were great. Iron and board. Micro and frig. Individual cottages. Drive up to door. Lock box if you are late arriving. We were able to go to the McCoud falls from there. A good walk for us as retired folks. Price was extremely reasonable. Area is beautiful. Area to sit outside if you chose and plenty of places to have other meals.

The Strawberry Valley Inn offers an impressive main house that serves as the lobby and dining room. Behind this are the actual rooms, which are less than impressive, but pretty standard.

I had a queen bed in a room well away form the noise of the main road, which in Mt Shasta can be quite loud with the diesel pickup trucks and semis rolling through town.

The room had a small step up in the back that was illiuminated with a strip of LED lights for safety. Despite that I either tripped or stumbled when going to and from the bathroom. This could easily be remedied with a small ramp that would both eliminate the step and the constant light from the LEDs.

Out front of the room was a small table with two chairs for sitting outside, a nice touch and I sat there in the morning before breakfast, which I unfortunately missed, as it is only served from 8-9:30. But the dining room is well provisioned and I would like to see what is on offer for breakfast.

The room has an overpowering smell of air freshener, so I had to leave the front door open and turn on the overhead fan. After a couple of hours the smell had dissipated and it was fine.

The rooms are a bit tired as the fixtures in the bathroom show substantial oxidation from many years of use or a lower quality material used. That said, everything was functional.

Pricing is a bit higher than other inns, but not by much. A nice place to stay if you find yourself in Mt Shasta.

Room Tip: In the back ad away form the road is the best option to avoid traffic noise.

We had peaceful sleep. Our room had 3 windows, A/C and heater. The toilet flush pressure was very low, you’d need to hold down the toilet flush for a few seconds. Yes it’s a bit outdated but the bed was comfortable, shower pressure was good, breakfast offered pancakes and waffles among the typical continental breakfast, microwave & fridge included, great location. We’d definitely stay here again!

We’d like to find a motel like this everywhere we travel but they are a rarity in today’s corporate grip on blandness. The room we had was almost like a small apartment.
Lots of attention to detail, so clean I didn’t mind walking around room barefoot, something I rarely do! Better than average bath products.
The breakfast room is in a vintage 1920s stone cottage with all the period detail intact.
The selection for breakfast was way above the norm, better than many restaurants. Good whole grain breads, good coffee and nice tea selection. Fresh fruit, not the usual boring unripe bananas or tasteless apples, the norm of most chain motels.
Bryan who oversees the breakfast service is a gem of hospitality and warmth.
The wine tasting in the late afternoon was a nice touch too.
Kudos to the owners/managers of this rare gem. We will always stop over at this inn on future trips to N. California.

The included Continental breakfast was very good, with ample fruit and good coffee. But, best of all, fresh, hot blueberry waffles were delivered to our table. The office is in a charming, quaint old house in the center of the property, which looks like a former small motel. Service was accommodating and helpful. Room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was even a separate room with another, larger TV, so if we had wanted to watch different programs - no problem.

Room Tip: larger numbered rooms are further from street noise
