I just spent 3 days at the Mt Shasta Resort to explore the area, take photos, and just relax. We had a 1 Bedroom King Cabin that overlooked Lake Siskiyou which included a kitchen with everything you needed to prepare meals. If a certain appliance was not in the kitchen, they would bring it to you. The only items I did not see was a blender. Everything else was there including paper towels, dish soap, and towels. After being out all day hiking and taking photos, the last thing I want to do is go to a restaraunt so I prefer to have hotels/resort rooms, etc. with kitchens. Cooking actually relaxes me and it is not a chore. There was a stainless steel fridge and stove, flat screen televsion, huge bathroom and gas fireplace. Based on other reviewers I'm not sure if they recently upgraded or not but everything was clean, modern, and comfortable. It was extremely quiet and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The golf course looked incredible although I didn't make time to play it. The receptionist was bubbly and extremely helpful with directions and hidden places to photograph. There is a restaurant and cocktail lounge which I did not use except to use the internet when I couldn't get it in the cabin. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience and I would recommend it to anyone going up to Mt Shasta. My only regret is not taking photos of the inside of the cabin to give to management for their website. What they have on the website is not what it looked like at all. It was much, ,much nicer!

This was our second stay at Mt. Shasta Resort and even though we couldn't get a 2 bedroom lakeview unit, we were quite happy with the spacious 1 bedroom condo we booked. Our friends stayed in the unit next to ours and were hit by stomach flu that they had been exposed to a week before our arrival. The housekeeping staff went well above the normal call of duty to help them out with frequent fresh linens, etc.

The condo itself was bright and nicely furnished and had a deck in the front with a table and chairs.

We didn't eat at the Resort this time, but it has a nice view of Mt. Shasta. Next time we'll try it for breakfast.

We ate both of our dinners at Lily's Cafe. It has exceptional food and the best outdoor dining area in town. The setting is gardenlike and very relaxing. Be sure to make a reservation. Their $10 shrimp skewer appetizer with polenta is delicious and enough for a whole meal. Their entrees were equally good and reasonably priced.

For hiking, we recommend Black Butte and Castle Crag park. Castle Crag has a variety of well marked trails to choose from.

Mount Shasta Resort is so beautiful, the dining experience is incredible. We have had some of the finest meals ever and the service is outstanding. We have traveled all over the world and have stayed and dined at the finest of resorts and restaurants. The food qualitiy, portions, price and most of all the staff are outstanding. We truly enjoy eating here with the breathtaking views of Mount Shasta and its lakes, the fresh mountain air and blue skies. It is such a great place to relax and enjoy. The people at this restaurant make us feel so comfortable. The last two times we had a waitress named Jill. She so was attentive. Great food and great service from all has made very satisfied life time customers. Thank you to all of the restaurant staff at Mt. Shasta Resort.

Rented a lakeview cabin for a mother daughter get-a-way. This resort is very golf oriented, golf carts buzzing about, so we were a bit fish out of water.

However, it was exactly what we wanted. The quiet cabin was a two-bedroom setup, with 1.5 baths, full kitchen and gas fire. We sat and talked, had dinner at the lodge restuarant (fair) both nights and took a nice drive up to McCloud during the day.

The setup was clean and comfortable, the service was good. The view of the lake was a view of a small arm, which was actually nice since no motor boats were zipping in and out. I'd like to come back in the summer when we could also take a swim.

Just returned from a week's stay at Mount Shasta Resort. Our family has been visiting the city of Mount Shasta and Lake Siskiyou for the past 14 years. This year we decided to rent a cabin at the resort. Best decision we made. The two bedroom lakeside cabin was roomy and nicely decorated. My only complaint with housekeeping upon arrival was the failure to clean the glass door leading to the deck of handprints. This is a personal pet peeve and may not necessarily be important to others. Maid service is daily with the changing of sheets on the third day of your stay unless you request otherwise. One day there was no service which was a surprise and a disappointment. We weren't sure exactly what went wrong that day but staff was very apologetic. Things happens. I would have also liked housekeeping to vaccum everyday because of the amount of outdoor stuff you have a tendency to track in. Given how responsive housekeeping was, I'm sure they would have done it if we asked. I would have preferred that housekeeping just did these things without the guest requesting it. After all, you are paying for these types of extras. We have rented cabins at Lake Siskiyou campgrounds which are very PRIMITIVE, uncomfortable (i.e no air conditioning, front door is through the master bedroom, bathroom flooded every time anyone took a shower in addition a poor drainage system, advertised cable TV is non-existent, just fuzz). and not worth the expense. Spend a tiny bit more and stay here. Much, much nicer and you still feel like you are in the great outdoors. Overall, we would definitely rent here again and recommend this resort to our friends and family. Also, be sure to dine at the Trinity Cafe at the end of S. Mt. Shasta BLvd. Wonderful gourmet food and service, you won't regret it. A true gem for Mount Shasta! Reservations a must!

My husband and I were presenting at a conference July 20-22 and were booked into the Mt. Shasta Resort by the organizers. What a treat! We had a private chalet on Lake Siskiyou. The chalet had a separate bedroom with a King Size bed and it's own TV. The decor was so tastefully done you felt like you were in a Sunset Magazine home, not a "hotel". Leather couch and love seat, flat panel TV in the living room, granite counter tops in the full kitchen, sky light, tile floors in the bathroom and dining room. You could easily live and entertain in this chalet. It was so peaceful at night I slept like a baby.

I spent time reading on the deck facing the lake, hiked for several miles on the nearby trail. I passed several beaches where you could swim. The only "down" side is the distance lodging is from the resort's restaurant and lounge. A 15 minute walk uphill or a drive. The trade off is the wonderful peace and quiet we enjoyed. I would recommend this resort for a romantic weekend, honeymoon or even a stay with your family. There is so much to do nearby.

We spent five nights in a lakeside chalet at Mt Shasta Resort. We had a marvelous time. The chalet was spacious. The furnishings were modest, but I'd really have to be picky to find something about which to complain. The kitchen was modestly stocked too, so don't plan on baking a turkey. There was a large dining area. We had a nice rear deck with a view of the lake (but not access to it) from the back of our Chalet. A deer passed through as we were getting ready to leave...I suppose to get us to come back. The golf course is beautiful and challenging enough for a mid-handicaper. Lots of character...translated that means lots of elevation change.

We ate in the resort restaurant, in town and in our chalet. All were very enjoyable. If you plan on BBQing, bring matches. Ray's market in town has an excellent variety of products in is reasonably priced...given you are a couple of hundred miles from their product sources.

For side trips we went through Shasta Dam and rode the Mystery Dinner Train. We scheduled a hot air balloon ride, but the weather wasn't favorable to ballooning.
