We stayed at this place after a two-day hike to summit Mt. Shasta. We were offered a great rate by the owner/manager, and were assured our room would be large and new. We were not dissappointed. Our room (2 queens) was definitely more spacious than those of other rooms I've stayed in in Shasta. The bathroom was clean, the room was clean and quiet, the beds were VERY comfortable, and there was ZERO hotel-room-odor (smelly cleaning products, cigarette smoke, pets, etc). The breakfast seemed small, but for those who prefer more food, I suggest the "Seven Suns" coffee house, which is walking distance from this hotel. Our stay was short, but this place filled the bill in all ways, and I would definitely stay here again.

Having read the other reviews, I would like to say that my husband and I had a great stay.
We were very pleased with our room at the AAA rates. Our bed, (King), was very, very comfortable, and the place was immaculate.
(Obviously, this fussiness manifests itself in many ways. To some it means that they will have trouble. To others, like us, it means that the room, walkways and hot tub will be spotless.)
The hot tub is small, but it was just right for us. (Yes, we had a good giggle at the array of signs, including: NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY).
The breakfast does seem somewhat inadequate, but we got our coffee from "Has Beans" (great local hangout) anyway.
There are beautiful flowers planted outside, and the parking lot is definitely roomy.

Hotel did not have hot water. When we wanted to use the hot tub the managnent told it was closed after paying $129 a nite we did not have any facility nither they had a pool and for the inter net they were charging $10.I think it was a ripp off.The managment was awful rude.I would never recommend any one to stay in such a facility. It was my first and last experience in this property.I would never ever go back.

My family and I have been visiting Mt. Shasta for over 20 years and we usually stay at the Best Western Tree House (which is a fantastic place). Unfortunately, I forgot to make my reservations early and they were all booked except for one of the nights we were going to be in town. We reserved the night we could at the Tree House and searched for alternative lodging for the other night.

One of the places we called was the Mt. Shasta Inn and Suites (rooms were expensive so we expected a lot). The owner went on and on about how they were the newest place to stay in Mt. Shasta. We knew they didn't allow pets which meant my dogs would have to spend the night in the SUV. This was not a big deal since they've done this before and I think they actually prefer the quiet and uninterrupted sleep.

When we were packing up the vehicle the next morning to leave we put the dogs on their leashes and took them out of the vehicle for a minute so we could secure the suitcases in the back of the SUV where we kept the dogs and the luggage. The dogs were not out more than 30 seconds when the owner/operator came running up to us ranting, raving and flinging his arms around; making a big scene about how "dogs were not allowed". We explained that the dogs were never in the room or allowed to roam the property and that they stayed in the car the whole time (we drove over to the Tree House, which has a wonderful wilderness area behind it for pets to run, twice that night and once very early the next morning to run our dogs). He just kept ranting about dogs not being allowed. He told us pets were not allowed to be in cars on his property which to me seemed absolutely absurd. It wasn't so much the bizarre rule he had it was more his ranting and raving over and over again that bothered us. People were actually coming out of their rooms to see what all the commotion was. He kept saying that there were signs "all over" but we walked from one end of the building to the other, several times, and saw no signs whatsoever. Their Web site bills them as "the cleanest, newest suites and friendliest service in Mt. Shasta, CA". I think not!

Here are some other issues we had with the place:
-The carpet was very dirty which made the room smell bad - we could tell they had sprayed something flowery to try and cover up the smell.
-There were not enough towels for each of us.
-There were only two individual tear open shampoo packets in the room.
-The phone call instruction card was covered with some unknown sticky substance.
-The shower curtin was very thin and flimsy and it kept blowing in and sticking to us while showering. The only way you could keep it from blowing in was to put the bottom of the curtain outside of the tub. Obviously others had the same problem because there was water damage and a lot of black mold surrounding the bottom of the tub and behind the loosened tiles.
-The "complimentary light breakfast" consisted of stale froot loop type cereal kept in huge plastic containers that sit out on the office counter 24 hours.
-Their Web site states "No pets allowed in the property" but says nothing about pets not being allowed in cars parked in the parking lot.
-One page of their Web site states "Ample parking" but the next page states "One parking per room allowed". Anyone visiting would have to find a place to park on the street on busy Mt. Shasta Blvd. In addition, the parking spots were so tiny that all the larger vehicles were dangerously close to each other. In fact there was a fender bender in the lot the night we stayed when a pizza delivery vehicle was trying to back up and hit another truck because there was barely enough room to manuver through the lot
-Everytime we drove or walked by the office that night the owner/operator was peering through the blinds watching everything that went on (very creepy).
-Their web site states "large outdoors year round Hot Spa" but there's no way more than two people could fit in that thing.
The entire stay was pretty lousy but we tried to make the best of it, had a good laugh and got on with our weekend!
