“Very comfortable and homey”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

We stayed at the Shasta MountInn for an unusually long time - 11 nights. David was a wonderful host and really made us feel welcome. Having access to the small upstairs guest kitchen and (due to our prolonged stay) David's laundry facilities made our vacation more comfortable, and enabled us to pack our own lunches and either make dinner or stretch take-out dinners over two nights. Because this little B&B attracts people who are a bit outside the US mainstream culture (as are we), we enjoyed meeting other guests at breakfast, even though we are not usually that social early in the morning. Because of all the shared facilities, this would also be a great place to share a vacation with one or more other couples. David's breakfasts are wholesome and well prepared, and he is very flexible about accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences. Snacks like fruit and cookies are available for guests at all times in the downstairs kitchen. Each room has a DVD player, and David has a library of movies to borrow, as well as books. The beds were divine - if you are used to a Tempurpedic, you will feel right at home. The view of Mount Shasta from the house is wonderful, and David recently installed a little artificial (but very naturalistic) stream running through the lovely garden next to the house that burbles you to sleep in the most delightful way, if you leave the windows open a bit. We look forward to staying with David again the next time we visit Mount Shasta.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Edson Room the first two nights, and the Shasta Secret Room the rest of the time. E...

Dave makes you feel like your home as soon as you arrive! I was alone for some rest & relaxation, the house is fabulous the bed was so comfy all the pillows, fresh water in my room, the view was simply delightful! The attention to details that he does is so wonderful, a cabinet full of snacks available at anytime, all kinds of different teas. The TV room upstairs w/massaging things for your feet, a vast supply of DVD'S that you can watch there or in the privacy of your own room. Forget a book, no worries there's plenty to choose from! OK, now let's go outside a private hot tub w/a lock on the door and plenty of clean towels, a private sauna w/spray bottles of water to cool off with. Amazing seating outside, comfy seats all w/a view and his babbling brook to lull you to sleep!!! Now if you need to really relax, indulge yourself in a massage, he uses warm (hot) oil, he has magical hands, never had such a fantastic massage!! I will be back for more!!

Room Tip: They are all beautiful!!

We loved our visit at Shasta MountInn! The bed was comfortable, the hot tub was relaxing, the views were beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. David, the innkeeper, has created a welcoming environment. He has thought of almost everything you could want for your stay including a fridge for the guests, a snack cupboard and calf massage machine! He is very helpful in answering all your tourist questions. Can't wait to go back to this lovely retreat!

After scouring the web for that "special place", I chose Shasta Mount Inn. My wife and I were meeting a dear friend, who had recently married, after the loss of his wife of 45 plus years. I was looking for a place that would provide peace and tranquility; one that would offer us an opportunity to talk and share our time, without the atmosphere of a reception area lounge. When I talked to David, he assured me that he had exactly what I was looking for and he was right! David opens his home to visitors and immediately treats his guests as family. His accommodations are uniquely quaint, clean, affordable and private. HIs outside ambiance is perfect, with a direct view of Mount Shasta and lovely grounds, coupled with a water feature that reflects a babbling brook. If you're looking for a regular sleep-stop, this is not for you; but if you are looking for a lifetime memory of wow, then this is it! David is a special kind of person, the type that you immediately take to and know that he has your best interest, at heart. David is an excellent host; one that you would think you've known, all your life. If you're ever traveling in/by the Mount Shasta area and need a break, welcome to David's world of peace and harmony. Note: our stay was overnight, June 30 and departed July 1.

Room Tip: At Shasta Mount Inn, all rooms are a good choice.

A 1904 residence that has been lovingly converted into a B&B and restored, the Shasta MountInn is a winner. The innkeeper, David, is personable but not intrusive. He knows the Shasta area well and provides helpful guidance to visitors. He is able to connect with both "new age" thinkers (check out the Inn's crystal singing bowls) and skeptical rationalists. The rooms are handsome. I was concerned at first that we would be hearing the travellers in the next room because the old-fashioned doors to our ground floor room did not seem very thick, but I was wrong about that--we did not hear a thing. We stayed at first at Shasta's Best Western, which is a satisfactory motor hotel with a restaurant, but it was nowhere as nice as the Shasta MountInn. My wife--who is sensitive to these things--said the Inn had a good, warm feeling/vibration. I am not sensitive to these things, but I agree. Bonus points for the free Wi-Fi and the attractive garden (particularly the roses). We were sorry to leave and plan to be back.

Room Tip: A small inn, so be sure to reserve early.

Shasta MountINN is an amazing Bed and Breakfast. The grounds are beautiful, the views fantastic and the grace and beauty of this restored home has to be seen to be appreciated.
The owner has provided many tranquil areas for his clients to relax and rejuvenate.
The daily breakfast's that David created were gourmet quality. The products he uses are
organic. The fruit is fresh and delicious.
The gluten free blueberry pancakes are incredible.
My husband and I will definitely plan a return trip.
One of the best experiences I have had in my many trips to Mount Shasta.
Diana Clark, Camarillo Ca

Room Tip: My daughter loved the "Twin Peaks" room. All rooms have a view.

Had a wonderful experience at Shasta MountInn B&B. Welcoming hospitality in a historic, pristine century old home. The rooms are absolutely perfect, with unusual attention to detail. The perfect bed and bedding, exceptional gourmet breakfast, private hot tub and sauna for guests, and many other nice amenities. This place, as well as the wonderful host, truly rocks.

Room Tip: All the rooms have unique character and are superb. Pick the one that suits your fancy.
