When I arrived at 8:45 pm, the restaurant was preparing to close so I decided to have dinner and beer here. As I've read in reviews, the bar set-up is a bit odd, very wide counter, few and low seats. Being a bar fly, chose to sit on the bar. I was warmly greeted by the bartendress. Ordered a beer and cheeseburger. The cheeseburger came with sweet potato fires, was simply delicious, cost $7.75 and was served in a record time, in about 5 minutes! So why only a 4 star rating? Unfortunately, I believe the bartender shift changes at 9:00 pm. So my very friendly and effervescent bartendress was replaced with someone who did not acknowledge my presence and, while sitting with behind an empty beer glass, did not ask me if I was ready for another. What I thought was going to be a 4 - 5 beer evening, morphed into a single beer evening. The new bartendress did acknowledge my presence when I asked for my tab(?). Music? Yes, there was a live band. Being in the music industry, I have an appreciation for all music and an admiration for musicians. Having said this, my staying for only a single beer was mainly due to the bartendress but the music sealed the deal. The band totally enjoyed themselves. The few songs played, while I was there, were typically introduced something like this, "this next song was written by _____ who knew _____ that played with the _______ band. What? I am not a fan of "covers" but in this case, a "cover" song here and there would have been appreciated. I honestly believe that the band's song list was chosen so that listeners cannot compare their performance with that of the original band, since none of the songs performed during my stay were well-known. Many bands do that as an act of "self preservation". The band was enjoyable to watch, music choice odd and performance loose. Lastly, I am 60 years of age and in everyone's book, a really old dude. I felt awfully young in this bar. Food and beer was great, everything else, a bit on the "far side"...........
