We stayed here for 2 nights and had an ok experience. First of all, we reserved one room w/ 2 queen beds through a discount offer off the AAA website. It's a 2 star establishment, and for the price, it's equals what you pay for.

The counter people were pleasant and our bill settled w/o any difficulty. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although they did forget to make up our room the 2nd day after we took off our 'do not disturb sign.' Don't know if it was the season or the average ratings, but not a whole lot of other guests at the hotel when we were there (at least that made for a very quiet stay). The continental breakfast isn't much; just some bagels, coffee, and donuts to tie you through to lunch. The hotel is on El Camino and is next to restaurants on 1 side. There is also a large shopping center area about 1/2 mile north of the hotel..

We may room here in the future if we visited the South Bay again, but I think we'll look around the internet some more for other places first.

This hotel was surprisingly bad for a Best Western. First, the lady at the counter actually bartered with us when we asked how much the rooms cost. She started with a really high price and then went down by about $40. The bartering lasted for ages- it was like being at a flea market in a foreign country. Then she gave us a room that ended up having pee in the corner- it smelled bad and we sniffed around and it was the most horrible thing when I took a big sniff in the corner. Gross! The manager who had led us to the room had acted really weird and said, "This isn't our best room." What a tacky place! The second room was a nice room.
Then, the last straw- my husband ended up getting really sick from the breakfast because the cream cheese was not kept cold but was just sitting out on the counter. So, that sure ruined our road trip the next day.

I was originally assigned Room #69 which I turned down because it smelled terrible (smoky) even though it was a nonsmoking room. I was reassigned immediately (good front desk staff) to Room #208. This room was in a different area of the hotel, and was nicely renovated -- a major upgrade from the first room. It had a nice desk, TV armoire, microwave, and granite countertop. It was darker than I would have preferred, but it is a BW (nothing too fancy). I appreciated the free high-speed Internet access from the room (BYO laptop). I paid $99/nt. + tax for a King bed room. I would probably return, but would not pay more than this. I have heard that the Hilton Garden Inn is considered the best hotel in Mtn. View (it is priced higher).
