“Great Staff, Nice Stay”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

I loved my time here! Staying at the Inn Motel really adds to the inviting and warm atmosphere that is Murphy's. Kim at the front desk was especially helpful and welcoming. My sister and I were planning on being out late, so Kim accommodated us by putting us at the end near the back door, making for an easy entrance and exit. Brownie points: they always keep a stock of delicious donuts and cookies at the front desk!

We've stayed here several times and always find the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms and public areas are always clean. Great location in Murphys. We enjoyed the walk to the tasting rooms, shopping and restaurants on Main Street. The distance might be a little much for some, but we enjoyed the walk in the early mornings and looked forward to the pool at the end of a warm afternoon walk. The pool is perfect for a hot summer day. We'll be back again soon.

We enjoy this motel, always very clean and has comfortable beds. If you are planning a day of wine tasting it works very well. It is an easy walk to downtown to more than a dozen tasting rooms, various shops and restaurants. It is the closest modern motel to downtown Murphys. There are also two restaurants right near by for breakfast. We were there this time for a wine club event at Vina Moda WInery, just a 3 minute walk away. They have plenty of parking, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the home made mini doughnuts are a nice touch.

Stayed at the Murphy's inn motel for three nights-Thursday thru Sunday, there was a snafu with reservation which was immediately addressed by Tania, I booked three night online and motel only had me down for one night, Tania did not hesitate to make it right immediately and gave me an upgrade to a suite for the same price as the standard room I had booked, this was due to the motel being fully occupied for the weekend except for the suite, such a pleasant wonderful surprise, I definitely would have expected to pay for the upgraded room, but was not asked to do so, motel immediately took full responsibility for the booking error and made it right! Suite was great, full amenities.. Mini fridge, microwave, stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware etc.. Very clean. Motel is also very quiet and in a terrific location at the north end of Main Street, my friend and I had no difficulties walking into town for food, wine, browsing etc...
This was my first trip to Murphy's and every person we have encountered has been gracious, friendly and inviting... Such a pleasant unexpected bonus, this is a lovely little town... If you are a wine drinker you will not be disappointed, something for all tastes.. More tasting rooms than possible to hit in a few days... But fun to try... All along Main Street, too many wines and styles to review here.. But I do recommend going into twisted oak for the wine and the experience of the gals pouring.. Great fun.. At the far end of Main Street go to Val du Vino for the wine but for the stories and humor of the wine maker, finally check out Bodega del Sur to meet the owner a lovely lady from El Salvador and see the beautiful custom stained glass windows, good wine also.. Could go on and on but not the forum.. Eating had a good dinner at Alchemy and Grounds, and a good breakfast at Grounds.. Overall great trip to Murphy's if you are looking for low key relaxing trip with wonderful people, good wine and good food..

Room Tip: Rooms on back side have a nice view, rooms on front side view of road and parking lot

Stayed one night while visiting gold country. This hotel is not within walking distance to downtown, but had good parking, and room was large, with fridge, microwave, etc.

Pool and hot tub too crowded to use. Front desk very helpful, and they deliver homemade doughnuts to your room in the morning, if you order them.

Still, $190 with tax is a pretty high rate to pay for this place, although some of the smaller, older ones are close due to the seasonality. Would stay again.

Inexpensive, clean, nothing special. Took about 5-10 minutes before someone showed up to help us and it appeared they she was not having the best day. All the rest of the staff we I countered were very friendly.

Room Tip: The walls are a bit thin so maybe an end room will decrease the chances of a loud neighbor
