We stayed at this property for 2 nights in a 2 br suite. The suite was very comfortable, soft furnishings somewhat dated, the bathrooms show the age even more, with taps not working properly, as such i.e. the temperature changing whilst taking a shower as taps are moving by itself etc. Service was unusual poor at this property. Most member of staff don't really seem to make an effort, probably as 18% service charge is added to everything they can't be bothered as they get this regardless of the service they provide. Some examples of poor service: asked concierge for a print out of driving directions from the hotel to the St Regis in San Francisco to be brought to my room, which I never received. Waited for nearly 5 minutes to be seated for breakfast as no staff in sight, finally seated ourselves and eventually someone showed up to take the order. Breakfast the second morning even more unprofessional, slow and unfriendly service, fruit salad instead of berries, every time you wanted more coffee one had to ask even so it was not even busy. No replacement of shampoo or bathroom amenities even so they were all empty, had to call to request them. Bins in bathrooms were not cleaned/emptied for the entire stay. No turn down service on any of the two nights we stayed here. Dirty cleaning clothes (assume from cleaning staff) left in the bathroom and overall cleanliness in my view not the best. This property unfortunately did not offer the standard Westin Service I would have expected, it wasn't a terrible stay but nothing beyond basic average. Would I return to the region I most certainly would explore to stay in a different property.

It should be noted that the staff were super helpful, courteous, and kind. The rooms were spacious (I had the 1 bedroom suite) but with a pretty nasty view of the roof. For a platinum member, and low vacancy, I thought I'd get at least a nicer view.
And that's the problem with this hotel. It lacks that California/Napa charm. It was pretty sterile. A more welcoming lobby with big oversize couches with a wine bar would have been expected. In the rooms, while very functional, it was pretty corporate. The pool area was nice (but small) for my family and the attendant very nice. They could add some pizzazz in the outdoor area with better outdoor string lighting and maybe even a firepit? Lots of opportunities to make it more memorable. Next time I am in the area, I'm going to look for something better representative of the area/culture. This Westin fell short but can be fixed because they have a great staff.

Hello Paul K,

Thank you for taking the time to provide a bit of feedback about your recent stay with us but more than anything I would like to apologize for the letdown in your general experience. As one of our most elite SPG Platinum members you clearly know what to expect from a Starwood property and I apologize that this stay wasn't to the level you have come to expect.

We are constantly brainstorming ideas for improvement and things that can be done better, so we appreciate the thoughts you were able to provide. We also appreciate the positive feedback about the team. Great service is one of the fundamental aspects of every guest visit and although it wasn't a perfect stay I'm glad to hear that you received great service throughout the property.

Thank you again and we'll hope to see you back on your next trip out to Napa.

Be well,
Nathan

The Westin Verasa is a very nice hotel located in downtown Napa. We stayed in a spacious two bedroom suite. It was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very welcoming. If you want to visit downtown Napa this is a good choice. If you want something more centrally located in Napa wine country, you might want to pick another hotel.

Hello katerachel15,

Thank you for the wonderful review and great feedback for all of our Trip Advisor readers. The two bedroom suites are amazing and the most comfortable rooms in the town of Napa.

I also think you hit the nail on the head about the location and what we can offer. If you want to be in the town of Napa and the southern end of the Napa Valley than we are a perfect hotel for you. That being said if you are looking for a vineyard view/wine country experience there are some wonderful options but they will be fairly isolated and typically run 20% higher to double the cost of a night with us.

Thank you again for the great review and we'll hope to see you back soon.

Be well,
Nathan

The Westin Verasa is a wonderful hotel, centrally located in downtown Napa. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The hotel also has a nice pool, workout gym and terrific restaurants and bar. In fact, the hotel has a high end restaurant on property - La Toque - which is delicious. Overall, a fantastic place to stay while visiting the Napa Valley.

Room tip: All rooms are nice but rooms away from the pool provide a bit more quiet

Hello Frank_2011_12:

Thank you so much for the amazing review and for sharing such great feedback on the entire hotel. We love to hear when our guest's are able to enjoy a dinner at La Toque because it is such a special experience. It's the only Michelin starred restaurant in the town of Napa and is by far one of the most amazing meals you will ever encounter.

It sounds like you had a great trip and we'll hope to see you next time your travels bring you back to the Legendary Napa Valley.

Be well,
Nathan

First thing (mainly for UK travellers), the rooms here are huge. We had a two bed suite which was on the second floor facing the oxbow and town (not overlooking the pool) . Beautifully furnished with fully fitted kitchen, large lounge area, two bedrooms and sofa bed (in lounge), balcony and two bathrooms. It is no exaggeration to say it was larger than most two bed flats in London. Yes, it is pricy but you could easily set up home here. From a sneaky look in other rooms whilst housekeeping were around, most rooms on our corridor appeared to be of a similar standard and fitout. We used the kitchen for breakfast, visiting the local market to buy croissants, fruit etc. One feature of the room that may be appealing/annoying depending on your points of view was the Napa Wine train. The train has an extremely loud horn which is blasted when it arrives at the station (only 200 yards or so away). 6pm is not a problem. 10pm perhaps more so. Still, it is great to watch it roll into the station from balcony. Service throughout our stay was first class, Valet service was excellent and all within the room price. The taster glass of wine from a local winery in the early evening was a nice touch. Location wise, ten mins to downtown Napa on a quiet side road (apart from the train) was perfect. Yes, you do need to cycle/drive to the wineries but I'd guess this is the case with most hotels in Napa. Lovely place.

Room tip: Check room position with regards the train if you have young kids

Hello Decapitate,

Thank you so much for the amazing review and it sounds like you had great time here in Napa. We love all the great feedback and I would agree, compared to my limted experiences in the UK, our 2 bedroom suites at over 1000 square feet are a bit bigger than most 2 bedroom apartments in London.

We'll hope that your travels bring you back to the area sooner than later and that you have a great end to your summer.

Be well,
Nathan
