Reservations were easy and email confirmations were prompt. Sam warmly greeted us and familiarized us with the property. Scott however, was outstanding as he took excellent care of us for the 4 days we spent there. Very knowledgeable of the area, the peoples, the food. He delivered our very delicious gourmet breakfasts daily and setup our Cottage table in a lovely fashion. See the images. What a beautifully decorated Cottage with in-room Jacuzzi, a large size bed with luxurious sheets, all new amenities, kitchenette and 2 decks to sit and relax. One is outside our front door. But it was the back deck that saw the most use. It overlooked a branch of the Napa River with full foliage and squirrels and birds. Lovely. Relaxing. Romantic.

The food was very fresh tasting and they do pick ingredients from their garden - that was nice to see. The grounds are lovely and properly groomed. Even their cleaning staff were happy and courteous. Our staff encounters proved they truly enjoyed where they worked. That's a big deal.

Once again, thank you Scott for helping us to feel at home, loved and wanted. Our conversations were lovely - just as lovely as you. This is must stay B&B.

Me and my mother visited Napa for the first time together and it was our very first bed and breakfast stay! DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK HERE!!! Sam, the humble innkeeper, is one of the most friendly people I have ever met and will help you with anything you could possibly need, especially finding wineries that suit your tastes or activities. You truly feel like you are staying at a good friend's house. They put out delicious plates of food (cheese, meat, grapes), homemade chocolate cake and fresh baked cookies ALL DAY!! There is also complimentary wine available 24/7. The breakfast is a three course slice of heaven. The staff of the house were extremely friendly and professional. The grounds are lovely, the bed is one of the softest you will ever sleep in. We stayed in the Lady Brittany in the "modern wing" added on after the original construction of the English Tudor Mansion in 1920. All the modern wing rooms have a very large hot tub. I personally think the Lady Brittany room had the best view of the grounds, very private perfect location - although the bedding is not the prettiest compared to other rooms. I would highly recommend going to the hotel website and looking at each room's amenities. If you want the perfect Bed and Breakfast experience STAY HERE! All the stress of a busy modern life melts away at the candlelight inn, which does have complimentary WIFI service throughout the entire house.
The location was perfect, very close to the Hess Collection (our favorite winery) and extremely close to downtown. You CANNOT miss the restaurants of Small World (inbetween first and second street) near an amazing thrift shop called WildCat and close to Annette's chocolates (the best wine and beer brittle in the world). Also for a quick delicious meal to take back to the Inn and relax, go to Clemente's at Val's - a little Italian place that is full of local legends. It's not a restaurant but a take-out place inside a really kitch grocery store, but don't let that scare you! If you stay at the Candlelight you will be nothing be pleased and relaxed with your stay. It seems like mainly couples stay here, but me and my mom had a fantastic time!

Room Tip: Lady Brittany has the best view of the backyard :), very cute balcony it's on the second floor.

I just got back from a weekend at the Candlelight Inn and was so sad to leave! It was a wonderful experience that exceeded all my expectations! I went with three friends for a birthday wine tasting trip and the innkeeper, Sam, really customized the experience for us. He planned the whole trip for us including arranging tastings and tours at four wineries off the beaten path. The three-course breakfast was delicious - I especially loved the raisin bread french toast, served with yogurt and fruit (such a good idea!) and the tomato and cheese omelette - seasoned to perfection!

The staff do a great job. They are present on arrival to personally welcome you and visit with each guest at breakfast to answer your questions and meet your needs. Meanwhile, they are "behind the scenes" at the right times so that you really feel alone and that you have privacy during your stay. I felt very comfortable, like a home away from home!

The rooms are perfect. We were greeted with champagne on our arrival, and loved the view of the pool and the beautiful greenery. The beds are SO comfortable, and the jacuzzi tubs are fabulous! We were so happy that we chose the Candlelight and will definitely be returning.

The Candlelight Inn came highly recommended and it still blew away my expectations. It's close enough to downtown and Hwy 29 for easy access, but it's located at the end of a residential cul-de-sac which ensures peace and quiet when you want it. The innkeeper Scott was courteous and showed us around the house briefly, and then led us to our room. The room was well-decorated and spotlessly clean, and the jacuzzi tub was absolutely fantastic. We took a dip in the warm pool before retiring to our room for the evening. The 3-course breakfast in the morning was terrific - a fruit smoothie, morning pecan bun, and spinach frittata were all fresh and amazing. All in all, a perfect wine country getaway that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my best friends and family!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong - every room has its own unique charm.

This was our 5th visit to Napa and as always we came back to stay at the Candlelight inn.We feel at home with Sam & Scott as gracious hosts. The rooms are wonderful, clean and comfortable.
The grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are great.
You're near Hwy 29 with easy access to Napa, St.Helena and Sonoma. We are already talking about our future trip and creating more memories to cherish.
Both Sam & Scott are a world of knowledge when it comes to wineries and restaurants in the area and will arrange reservations for the wineries and eateries.
Thanks for your hospitality****
