“One of the Best”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

We are experienced B&B visitors. The Candlelight Inn ranks among the best that we have enjoyed. Rooms are fresh and pleasant, service is extraordinary either from Sam, the owner/inn keeper to Scott or Dan the very competent assistants. We were met with a warm greeting and departed as one of the family. Breakfast is a delight and always a surprise each morning. You need to book well in advance, the Inn is very popular.

Room Tip: The three main floor rooms, although more expensive, are desirable for location and king sized beds.

This was my wife and my first time staying at the Candlelight Inn. We stayed in the little Cottage just off from the Main Building and had a fantastic stay. The service was impeccable and the Breakfast each day was Amazing! Can't say enough good things about Sam and his wonderful team. We will be back!

What a beautiful and quaint B&B in the town of Napa! It's not on a winery or situated on a hilltop. But, instead this little gem is located near town and close to everything in Napa. Sam did a wonderful job hosting us and breakfast is far beyond expectations for an inn. We stayed in the Master Suite (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and enjoyed the beautiful furniture, original stained glass, and awesome steam bath. (bring bath salts and such with you). We took advantage of the in-room couples massage and we apologize for endulging in the complimentary cheese plates more than other guests. (oops!) We wish we could have stayed longer but our travels took us elsewhere. Thanks to Sam and gang for all of the hospitality and allowing us to enjoy this sweet, little retreat.

We are now home after our wonderful holiday in California. Our stay with you and the
Platypus wine tour were one of the highlights of our visit. Thank you so much for your
friendly welcome and helpful advice, and we shall have no hesitation in recommending
The Candlellght Inn to our friends.

Room Tip: We occupied the highest room in the house at the front, very quiet.

We actually stayed at this B&B few years ago, but it is still one of the most memorable stay we've ever had to this day.

The house is so charming & beautiful, the room we stayed was wonderful (with private steam room!), and the breakfast was superb. Thank you!

From start to finish, the Candlelight Inn was a beautiful experience for my husband and I on our honeymoon weekend. Sam, the managing partner, is fantastic and every element of our room and our stay were superb. We stayed in the Garden View room, which I recommend for those who enjoy the hominess of a B&B but the privacy of a room rather secluded and with its own private entrance, allowing even access to the lovely garden and pool 24/7. The fridge is stocked with cheese and fruit plates, white or red wine, and even a plate of cookies. There's a book with restaurant menus and attraction recommendations in the dining room, and there were fresh flowers and chilled champagne and chocolates in our room (with its own beautiful hot tub!) Our room featured all the usual amenities, plus the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, a lighted make-up mirror in the bathroom and even packets of make-up remover! What's so wonderful about this B&B is the structure and decor is delightfully warm yet the fixtures and paint and amenities in the rooms are modern and completely refurbished. The breakfast was multi-courses, and every one more scrumptious than the last! I kept thinking that was it, but then Sam would smile and set down the next course - I believe 3-4 in all, very gourmet, but also light and extremely flavorful. The robes in the room were so comfy and absorbent (yet light); I will purchase one to take home when we return for our 1 year anniversary. This will become a tradition because of how lovely it was and how we were treated. We've told all our friends not to stay anywhere else if they visit Napa ... we certainly won't! Worth every penny :)

Room Tip: Garden View is so nice; high, comfy bed with a romantic canopy - in-room spa and fireplace, large TV...

The building is cute, the room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable, the grounds (including the pool) were beautiful, the breakfast was amazing, and the hosts friendly, welcoming, and full of local information. In other words, exactly what a Bed and Breakfast is supposed to be. Close to downtown Napa and towards the southern end of the Napa Valley wine region, Candlelight Inn was the perfect place for the 3 days we spent in region. I highly recommend it.
