This was 4-day stay with family visit to wine country. Nice rooms and comfy bedding and towels. We had a deluxe king room - with a sleeper sofa - which was not so comfy. Overall great experience. Understand Avia will be renovated soon - changing the check-in process. Will make this hotel even more convenient for person on business travel.

Room Tip: The deluxe king includes a sitting room with full-size sleeper - tv in each room and shared fireplac...

In the heart of downtown - easy walk to many restaurants. Service was over the top - the Concierge provided great recommendations - booked a wine tour for us - and sent a complementary bottle of Champagne to our room after finding out we were celebrating our anniversary. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel 3 days - It was excellent and service was great. I would return. Stop in at the John Anthony Tasting room next door.

Room Tip: Get the rooms with the tub - makes for a nice way to relax after your trips to the Vinyards

We stayed one night but made the best of it! A friend had a bad experience as well during breakfast. I had read that before. No need to deal with the hotel restaurant, as you are walking distance to everything you need in Napa.

The tub and bathroom was modern and unreal. Lavender bath salts, need I say more?!

Room Tip: Request a better view! Rooms in back have a yucky view.

Using our Hyatt points, we booked a couple days at this Napa downtown hotel. We paid extra for the bathtub room and it was worth the few more $$. We had a third floor room overlooking the terrace and had ourselves a quiet, grown-up weekend. The room itself is not very big but the dividing wall with fireplace made it appear more spacious than it really was. The bathroom is very modern with lots of counter space and you truly can fully immerse yourself in the very deep tub. My only complaint is that they should have put more bath amenities in a "bathtub" room. There was only a packet of bath salt by the tub.

The staff was very efficient, from the valet to the room service people. The thing that took a point from my rating is the room service food. The menu was very , and I mean, VERY, limited. We ordered in-room breakfasts for our two-day stay and both times, the food came to us at almost room temperature. Eggs are just not appetizing when it's served that way. The problem is, I believe, because they don't transport it to the rooms in those heated, covered carts. They were carried in just regular trays.

The location of the hotel made up for the lackluster hotel restaurant though because there are a lot of really good places surrounding Avia. So skip the hotel restaurant and explore downtown Napa's eateries.

The best hotel in and around Napa that combines comfort, modern facilities with reasonable prices. Easy to walk to many of Napa's best restaurants through a city that's trying to become more walking friendly. Rooms are large and airy with comfortable seating areas and a clean modern bathroom.

Awful experience in the restaurant for breakfast. Some of the staff is surly and inept. Asked three people for coffee shortly after sitting down and after 10 minutes it showed up. Food is good if you have the time to wait. When we sat down we were told an omelet would take 30 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and I would just skip it next time.

But I will be back to this excellent hotel.

Gorgeous hotel. We were given an upgrade when we checked in so we had a very large room, huge bathroom, fireplace and wonderful amenities. The staff was great. This is the perfect hotel to use as your home base. Very close to both Napa Wineries and Sonoma Wineries. It is also within walking distance to many nice restaurants and bars. After a long day, you can take a bottle of wine and relax around the outdoor fire pits.

Stayed here for a business meeting in July 2012. The hotel is located right in downtown Napa, which is a nice alternative to the more rural areas. Downtown Napa is cute, although with quite a few vacant storefronts. Restaurants are definitely close by, as well as nice paths by the river. Self parking is free in the garage behind the hotel, or valet is available.

I was pleased with the ease of check-in and the helpfulness of the staff in finding activities for my husband while I was occupied.

The room was gorgeous, with a very comfortable bed. We had a "balcony" (really just french windows with a gate in front) with a gorgeous view of the town. Bathroom amenities were nice, towels comfy. The bathroom itself was spacious.

I was very impressed by the terrace on the second floor and the wine tastings in the evening in the lobby. Nice touch!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the balcony--nice touch, and in the gorgeous Cali weather, you can leave it open...
