“Warm and Friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2013

Personalized service by warm and friendly staff. We were greeted with complimentary Sauvignon Blanc (from Napa, of course) upon arrival. No check-in lines here - check-in was done while seated at the lobby while I waited for my husband to park. We were escorted to a spacious corner suite with a lovely view of quaint downtown Napa. All local restaurant recommendations were wonderful and were within walking distance. Free wi-fi, complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks at the mini-bar. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Excellent stay over-all! Perfect location if you want to visit wineries in both Napa and Sonoma.

The Andaz Napa (Hyatt) is small, elegant property on first street in the heart of Napa. The staff is attentive and pro-active. While it has a young, hip vibe my wife and I were treated royally. Check in was simple and stream-lined. There is complimentary glass of wine with check-in, local vintage.

The room we were in had a courtyard view, which suited us just fine. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. The area around the hotel is, as one expects, rife with stores and restaurants. However, the little downtown area has not fully recovered from the economic down-turn so there are a number of unoccupied retail spaces around the hotel.

If you like unpretentious, but delicious food and wine, walk a few blocks down to the Bounty Hunter (right by the river) and had great barbecue paired with a variety of wines suggested by our server. There are also tastings suggested on the menu. There is no shortage of food and drink establishments to try that are within easy walking distance of the Andaz.

We debated for along time as to what hotel to stay in when visiting Napa (Calistoga, St. Helena etc) and are very glad we stayed here. This hotel experience was wonderful right from the start. We were swiftly greeted by the valet when we arrived and then escorted into a stunning front lobby that has been "deconstructed" meaning that there is no front desk at this hotel, simply staff walking with iPad's ready to assist guests with different seating areas set up. Wine was served complimentary during the check in process, a lovely touch and the decor is sort of rustic-industrial-chic; an overall beautiful hotel. The staff are sharply dressed in jeans, blazers and boots, a casual but chic look.

The room was spacious, clean and modern with free mini-bar items available (excluding alcohol) such as a delicious offering of snacks including granola bars, artisan chocolates and to-die-for truffle flavoured popcorn! The bathroom was really large and had nice bath products (I always look for nice shampoos/soaps in hotels). There is no fitness facility in the hotel but passes are provided for the gym located next door to the hotel-it has all the necessary equipment though some very dated along with the decor.

The bar in the lobby is hopping in the evenings and a selection in unique cocktails are available. The restaurant, although only visited for breakfast, was delicious and the service great. I would recommend heading to Modal Bakery and picking up a breakfast sandwich prior to walking into Oxbow market for a coffee at Ritual.

A second floor patio with furniture, fire-pits and BBQ's is open for guests to enjoy. We requested that a wine opener and glasses be brought to the patio so we could enjoy a bottle of wine with friends. The front desk attendant said it would be right up to us within 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, we went down to request again and after 15 more minutes, we decided to scratch those plans and just head out to a restaurant. When walking through the lobby, the girl apologized immensely for not getting us the wine glasses-not sure what happened but they never showed. There are wine glasses in the rooms so next time we will just bring our own down to the patio rather than asking for them to be delivered.

The staff and concierge were so helpful in helping us ship wine back to our home along with accommodating our friends request to switch rooms (the initial room was adjoining to some ladies who were a little loud).

Overall, a great spot when visiting Napa and within walking distance to great wine tasting lounges, Oxbow market and bars/restaurants. We would definitely return to this hotel when visiting Napa again.

Room Tip: Cabs are not as common as you would think and the average waiting time for us was about 20 minutes-i...

Love the Andaz. From the moment you walk into this cool hotel it feels new and different. They check you in on a tablet instead of waiting at some desk. Next they offer you complimentary glass of red or white. Next we did the complimentary 10 minute massage right there in the lobby. Then a refreshing glass of cucumber water. Then, finally we went up to our fabulous room, where all the minibar is FREE (except alcohol). Walking distance to all he downtown Napa sights. Andaz was also great in they took a 1 night reservation, where many hotels in Napa Vally insist on 2 night minimums. I certainly prefer staying in Yountville, but it is only a 15 minute drive to Yountville, I would not hesitate to come back to Andaz!

We loved staying at the Andaz Hyatt in Napa. It is in a great location, situated within walking distance from places you want to visit. The entire hotel's decor and ambiance was perfect. Service was exceptional.

Room Tip: Corner Junior Suites are beautiful

Arrived for 2 nights for a romantic retreat and I had my heart set on a really nice room. Realized upon checking in that we were placed in an accessible room (4 handle bars in the bath, lower peep hole in the door, etc.), so we called downstairs and requested to be changed. We were sent to a room right over the terrace, which was already occupied by many revelers--we were afraid we'd have a noisy night, plus there was no privacy because there were windows and terraces all around looking in. We went downstairs and spoke to Ben at the front desk who graciously handled the situation--he found a more private room for us on the 5th floor which was actually an upgrade. The rest of our stay was lovely, though I was a bit upset because I mistakenly left a phone charger in the second room and felt the front desk did not seriously look for it. Guess that's the price you pay for being picky!

Room Tip: Request a higher floor away from the terrace in the back.

We had a birthday celebration in the wine country and decided to stay overnight in a hotel since we might be drinking too much for the drive home. The moment we walked in the staff greet you in the lobby, take you to a comfortable sofa and offered 1/2 a glass of wine for you to relax before checking you in- takes only 3 minutes. He took us up to our room and showed us all the amenities-all the non alcohol drinks and snacks are free. What a treat. It was a suite too. Parking is free in the city parking lot. This is a Hyatt property. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: a room not in front
