Stayed one night May 2014. Room was lowest rate ($269) so did not expect the moon and stars. Did expect to be able to open the blackout curtains or see inside my purse/suitcase. Room #239 located directly outside the Terrace Bar, so you are essentially completely exposed to the bar patrons outside who look directly into your room. The lighting in the room consisted of a bedside lamp and a short rectangular lamp on the dresser. No. Light. Whatsoever. I had to move my suitcase into the very spacious and well lit bathroom to see inside it. I am slightly claustrophobic so this was a disaster but I had to go immediately for dinner with friends so I did not have time to fuss with management about accommodations. Woke up at 9:45 AM because the room was pitch black, although this was my bad as I didn't set an alarm. Then attempted to make coffee hurriedly and didn't notice that the coffee cup had been placed in the coffee maker upside down so while I was taking a shower coffee was filling the dresser and eventually the floor. Trying not to let these things ruin my one night getaway. Room might very well have been nice but I could honestly not see it. It was, however, very cramped. Bathroom was fab -- large and bright and double the size of most, nice bath amenities. Nice to be located right downtown in spite of constant reconstruction that has been going on for at least 7 years...
I did indeed inform management of the poorly thought-through room arrangement and they refunded me a nice amount, but honestly feel sorry for whoever has to stay in this room. I'm beginning to feel like perhaps the lights are dim so that those who end up in there cannot do anything exhibitionist for those at the bar and terrace couches.
The hotel assured me that in the future I would not be assigned that room. Consider yourself notified.

What an amazingly terrific stay!! First and foremost, after shopping online for Napa hotels in April, I was concerned that the Andaz ... at it's "bargain" price (comparatively speaking) would be a mistake. To our delight, this hotel simply must be THE BEST VALUE and EXPERIENCE you could hope for in Napa!!

I've read some of the other reviews ... "a little too hip and confusing" ... "noisy" ... "not the place for the over-30 crowd" and honestly, I just don't see it! My husband and I are almost twice 30 and we were made to feel exceedingly welcome. The decor is funky/cozy ... the staff, young, hip AND entirely gracious and fun. Breakfast was actually to-die for - it was THAT GOOD!! If you happen to be a member of the Hyatt Passport Program with some status, you have a choice of free "amenities" - we chose the bottle of bubbly and cheese tray and not only was it terrific, it arrived precisely when we asked to have it arrive! (Sad that I'm always surprised when folks do what they promise to do; nonetheless ... )

Now ... we did upgrade to one of the two loft rooms and I recommend that EVERYONE TRY TO DO SO! For a very modest upgrade fee, you are greeted with a very large room (including seating area) ... THE COOLEST rotating flat screen TV and ...a lovely, private outdoor balcony space. In the evening, there was live (but not obnoxious) music on the lounge floor below us and it made for a great night! Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't gush over the service because these up-and-coming professionals deserve a great deal of credit - our EVERY wish was graciously attended to ... we had the impression that NOTHING would be too much trouble for the staff. And ... to top it all off ... the Andaz charged THE LOWEST SHIPPING prices for all the cases of vino we were shipping back to Pennsylvania - considerably cheaper than the individual wineries! The entire stay was seamless and delightful and ... the hotel is SUCH a pleasure that it's almost a destination in itself!

BRAVA to the management and staff of the Andaz and ... BRAVO to Hyatt! You NAILED the concept of chic yet comfortable and innovative. Out 3 night stay just could not have been better. Thank you so very very much for doing such a FAB job!!

Room Tip: Try to get one of the two loft rooms - well worth the modest upcharge!

We arrived early afternoon and were able to check in fairly easily. The associate informed us that we had been "upgraded" to King Suite. Unfortunately the room overlooked the outdoor bar and deck lounge. As other reviewers have noted, the windows do not have sheer curtains so the blackout curtains need to be kept closed in order to attain any modicum of privacy. People at the deck bar were waving to us as we drew the curtains. We inquired why there were no sheer curtains in the room and were informed that the new management removed them. Not good, not intelligent. Perhaps they preferred keeping us on the dark so we did not notice the visible wear and tear of the furnishings. In particular, the bathroom appeared pretty beat up and the spa-like wooden shower chair was pretty scratched up with many visible gouges.

The parking can be accessed by exciting through the restaurant or the front of the hotel, but guests must walk through a deserted alley or delivery driveway to most easily reach the garage.

The lobby is rather small and the guest elevators are situated adjacent to the public lobby bar with no visible staff presence to prevent unauthorized access by non-guests.

Checkout was interesting, since for several minutes we could not find (or figure out) who in the lobby was a staff member.

On the plus side - the location is convenient to the downtown are of Napa and the free snacks and beverages in the room were appreciated.

We would not stay here again since there are many other choices in Napa.

Room Tip: Do not check in until you are certain that you cannot see the outdoor lounge from you room regardles...

We stayed in an "Andaz Loft". Perhaps they don't all overlook the outdoor lounge as well as the parking lot, but ours did, and since there were no sheer curtains in the room, we had no privacy unless we closed the blackout curtains. Also, it got very noisy -- our room was right over a firepit with lounge seating all around it.

Otherwise it's a cute hotel, service was fine, nothing extraordinary, a few minor glitches. Location was convenient but then again Napa is quite small.

I really liked this place. The color scheme and lighting produce a very tranquil feeling to this place. The customer service was excellent....all of who were young and hip. With Hyatt diamond status our breakfast was included. Very fresh and innovative version for lox and bagel using all locally procured produce and dairy products with on premise grown herbs. The wait staff was extremely attentive and eager to meet all your needs. The bar brags all locally distilled spirits with the exception of irish whiskey...understandably. This place is downtown Napa so you can take advantage of the local farmer's market when available and the shops as well. Outstanding place to stay if you making the wine tasting scene.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it. Superb service. Easy check in, they sit you down with a welcome glass of wine and bring the check-in to you. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a King suite as we were celebrating our anniversary and it was gorgeous. Separate sitting area with a fire place that could be enjoyed from either the living or bedroom areas. Bedroom was comfortable with a large soaker tub. The bathroom was just as amazing - giant shower, two sinks and plenty of room for your toiletries. Cannot say enough about how comfortable and spacious this room was.Gorgeous roof top bar with outdoor fire pits. In the heart of downtown Napa. Perfect home base location for all the areas and wineries we visited. Loved it!

Don't miss Model Bakery which is just a quick 8-10 min walk outside of the Oxbow Market. They have amazing English muffins!!!

I mean really this is the wine country and we know to do it right you will invibe.........And as good as Napa wines are you will arrive in style........and this destination will not disappoint..........chic elegance and low lighting to help the next morning.......and the Diamond breakfast is well done although I never got that Blueberry muffin...........don't expect much from the Fitness Club admittance as it is an "indoor chlorinated" pool..........but the Andaz is a great value at 20k Hyatt points........

Room Tip: Don't fret as they are all good....
