We stopped in here for lunch and were seated outdoors on a quiet street. Ordered ahi tuna Caesar salad, fish tacos, and miso soup. Very good food, excellent presentation, not large portions, but very tasty. The miso soup was phenomenal - the tofu was like clouds - never had tofu like that. Delicious! The Caesar salad was served as an entire bunch of romaine lettuce with dressing drizzled over. Would have preferred a larger portion and chopped, with a little more dressing. The ahi was plentiful and delicious, however. Overall, a little overpriced for what you get. Menu needed translating, but server obliged. Would return to try other offerings.

Being part of a large group is frequently asking for trouble, and that's what happened. Although we had a private dining area and what seemed to be dedicated staff, neither the service nor the food was up to what I had expected. The many appetizers were served family style with very little explanation - much needed for the pork belly, the yellowtail pastrami, and the shrimp two ways. Also had the feeling that much of this had been pre-prepared and had sat around too long. The shushi course was excellent, as was the braised black cod as an entree. Just got the feeling that the staff would have preferred to have been elsewhere. No attention to the diners' pleasure. More of a "here it is; eat".

Morimoto was Awesome! The restaurant is in downtown Napa, and is beautiful. The raw oyster appetizer comes with three different types of sauces, and was so tasty we ordered a second order. The sashimi was fresh, and the martini's were made perfectly!

The four of us were lucky and got in without a reservation.
The service was fantastic and the sushi was the best I have ever had. (and I ate sushi in a lot of places) This is a must when visiting Napa.

We've been to Morimoto's in Philadelphia which was one of the best meals we ever had (top 3) so we were anxious to try his new restaurant in Napa. He's located on the Napa River walk. It was a gorgeous day so we ate outdoors, but don't miss his eclectic interior. Totally different approach. The food here is more traditional, with the Morimoto twist, of course. We had Kukuni appetizer (deep fried pork belly with an amazing sauce), the duck meatball soup which was light with an fabulous duck broth. For lunch we had the sashimi (we were told eight pieces, but it turned out to be eight fish selections, enough for two). Absolutely the freshest fish and octopus. There was a nice wasabi/ginger paste to dip with. We ordered two different sake flights (four 2 oz samples each) which were a great way to get some experience with sake and enough to last the lunch. For desert we had marinated cherries in a sabyon sauce and a chocolate shortbread and chocolate truffle combination. Artfully presented and delicious. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Check out the deserts to go case in the lobby. Some really fabulous looking items (chocolates, assorted fruit tarts, etc). Lunch for us was about $160 before the tip (Philadelphia was $220). If you are a foodie, this is money well spent. We'll be back the next time we're in Napa.
