“Great Theatre ! Wonderful Talent ! Terrible Sound Board !”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Wonderful venue... Great food and drink value. The sound board on Saturday did a terrible job. When a retired Music Professor made a suggestion to improve sound quality she was threatened with being thrown out by a wanna be biker looking thug. Cooler heads prevailed. An unfortunate stain on a wonderful weekend of music and entertainment.

So sorry your show experience was tainted by your interaction regarding the sound. Unfortunately that evening the sound board was controlled by Los Lonely Boys sound engineers. We are very proud of our sound quality as evidenced by the many comments and reviews all favoring the sound quality at Uptown.. Even better yet, our sound staff are so highly desired, many artists choose to come to play at Uptown because of our quality and skilled staff. Most shows, the sound board is controlled by our staff because of their exemplary reputation in the industry, however Los Lonely Boys likes to manage their own board and are known for being quite loud.

Truly sorry that you must have spoken to someone who treated you with disrespect. We are confident that it was not one of our people as we treat all our patrons as guests in our home. If at any time you feel you are not being treated well by ANYONE at the theatre , please ask for security or the manager on duty. And we always have packages of earplug in the management office for patrons as well!

Thank you for being a patron of Uptown Theatre and we do hope that you come back again! We appreciate your business and comments.

“Nice and cozy!”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

I came here 2 nights for the Live in the Vineyard event which was awesome on its own, and this theater was a nice surprise. I am not sure of the history, although I am sure it is rich, but this place is smaller than I though (PRO) and the sound is good. What else do you need? Lobby never seemed to packed either.

The Friday night concert included Fitz and the Tantrums. They had a lot of energy and put on a great show. The real down side was Mary Lambert. Watching and listening to her is like having a root canal.

“Classic Vintage at it's finest!”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

We attended the Boz Scaggs concert in Feb. The concert was incredible, the sound system was out-of-this-world and the theatre was opulent! I can't say enough about it. Upon entering the building through the swinging front doors you were transposed to a different era. It was a step back in time. We had been told that the theatre had undergone a major renovation but the attention to detail was such that you felt you were there on opening night (back in the 30's)! I almost felt under dressed what with all the gold detailing and heavy velvet curtains. The seats were so comfortable and the fact that you could take your drinks in with you was super. We would definitely base another visit to Napa just to go to another concert in the Uptown Theatre!!
