I was originally stunned and disheartened by the price of lodging in Napa Valley. My husband planned to visit the wineries to celebrate our 28th anniversary, and at first it looked like we weren't going to be able to afford a weekend visit there. Most of the rooms started at $400 a night! So, I was a little concerned that the Wyndham Napa was going to be a nasty experience, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The furnishings were definitely an upgrade from the standard Motel 6, and everything worked fine. Breakfast was edible (eggs are rubbery, but oh, well), and there are a couple of chain restaurants within walking distance. Although the hotel is not in a scenic spot, and it is right next to a vacant lot on one side, and a little used-car dealer on the other side, it is only a short drive to all the pretty spots in Napa. Like someone else said, the money I saved on the room, I spent on wine ;-).

Located on a busy commercial street about a mile south of downtown Napa. Surrounded by strip malls and car dealers. The standard product for a hotel (actually a motel....all rooms open to the outside) of this type. Small indoor pool. All rooms have views of parking lot on one side, vacant weeded lot on the other. What is advertised as a "suite", of course, is nothing more than a half wall between the bed and the sofa. Room was very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was standard for what you get in most "free breakfast" hotels these days. Nothing lavish, but a way to grab a quick bite before heading out to the wineries and the "real" food that Napa offers. Overall, no complaints except the price...$238 for a king bed room at a hotel of this quality in this location is way over the top. We chose it because it was the only thing available due to our late booking, but wouldn't choose it again.

Room Tip: A tip for finding the place.....driving up Soscol Ave. (Hwy 121) as most people would approaching Napa from the south....the hotel is very hard to find. It has a very low-profile sign out front, pretty much hidden by landscaping. Best landmark is....it's on the right, just past a big Ford dealership. Kudos to those who find it on the first drive-by!

Stayed here for three days during our stay in the Napa Valley, July 2012. The facility was good. Great hot breakfast. My only complaint was that there was no clock in the room, and at one point the lobby staff couldn’t keep the hot food replenished. Minor issues. Would I stay there again? Definitely

This place is a good pick of you want a clean, comfortable room with nice features, and you are not needing the highest-end place in Napa. We spent most of our time out of the hotel, visiting wineries, going cycling, and ballooning, so we just needed a clean and comfortable place to be at night. The bed was plush and comfy, and the room included a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. We had no trouble with noise through the walls at night. The breakfast buffet was better than most, and included some hot items (which is a rare find these days). Yes, it is a minute or two off the beaten path, but we didn't find this to be a problem. If you want to spend your money on fun and adventure, while spending less on a nice decent room, this is a good pick.

We have always enjoyed our stays at Hawthorn Suites (Naples Fla). We were expecting the same in Napa. The hotel was no more than average. In the morning the breckfast kept renning out of coffee and food. This should not happen after all they know how many guest they have. It was located in a ideal spot and we made it our base for 3 days. The hotel was clean. Next time I go I will tend to look for another hotel.
