We chose Napa Valley Bistro for our last meal in Napa after getting recommendations for several other places in town, several of which didn't take recommendations. We were among the first diners there at 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday but the place rapidly filled up. The staff was a delight, and treated us like family. We were super happy to have our bottle of champagne uncorked for free! The chicken empanadas (pictured at this time on their website) were a perfect "small plate" for someone like me with a small appetite. The accompanying tomatillo sauce had a good bite to it (important for a Southwesterner who loves spice!) and the empanadas themselves were wonderful and perfectly cooked. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their dishes and we left very satisfied. Big thumbs up to this restaurant!

This restaurant is easy to miss since it is not on a busy street. it's worth finding, especially on Sunday morning. The Chesapeake Eggs (poached eggs over crab cakes w/ lemon hollandaise) is amazing. We went back two weeks later and had the same thing; it was just as good as i remembered. Service is good and friendly.
I will be going back soon to try the dinner menu........

After a last minute decision plus help from our wine tour operator, we had a grand time at this Bistro. Since it was last minute, we ended up with a large table (normally 6 or 8) by the front door and in front of the kitchen. We was fun watching everyone come in and smelling the wonderful food be prepared just a few feet away. Food was great -- halibut, short ribs, and..
We brought our own wine (no corkage for 1st bottle, $10 for 2nd).

We were given a gift card from our Realtor for the Bistro as a thank you. She said it was a nice local place, and was she ever right. We went with friends and glad we did. It was a $100 dollar gift and the prices were so reasonable we wouldn't have spent near that amount if we'd gone alone.
They don't charge corkage on the first bottle of wine, and $10 on the second. We only brought 1 bottle and decided to have another. Very nice wine list and reasonable too. Had a local Pinot Noir for $44. Not a lot above the retail price.

The food was excellent. My fried chicken very moist and not greasy. 2 others had the ribs, and they were great. The dinner salads are big enough to share. We're all going back soon.

The only downside is on the weekend it's packed, definitely need a reservation. And it's really loud! Hard to hear conversation across the table, everyone's louder than the next. On the weekend they could use and extra server or busser as well. But if that's the only downside, not a big problem. And we can go any night, not going on a weekend again. But we are definitely going!

We were referred to this restaurant by locals. We brought our own bottle of wine from my wine tour and there was no corking fee! Had the evening's special, short ribs. Finished with a warm chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious! Recommend this restaurant. Décor is upscale casual.
