This was our second trip to Napa and we also have a friend who is local, so our agenda was more laid back than the first time around. We recognized the "park model" set up when online since we are campers and have actually looked at these models for our vacation property. For us it was a bonus since it gave us insight into a possible future purchase.
Had traded our "lock-off" in Ft. Lauderdale through Interval International for the week in the unit which was a fair trade. Would have been disappointed had we traded the main unit since it is extremely nice w/ full kitchen, laundry, etc. Once again, had an idea of what we were going into and were pleased since we planned to do a lot of traveling and this was a place to "hang our hat".
Our local friends came for dinner one night and really liked the unit and inquired about a "get-away" in the resort. It was roomy enough for the two of us but another couple or children would have been crowded.
Beware of the sales pitch! The pay off is cheap (free dinners w/ a purchase at two separate restaurants with lots of conditions, a bottle of wine, and some complimentary wine tastings). Considering the last Marriott pitch we attended netted a $100.00 gift card to use as we pleased with no strings attached, this seemed cheap and a real waste of our two hours. After owning timeshare for 10 years, this one finally did it and we have sworn off for good!
Laundry service needs an upgrade although it is free. There are 3 combination washer/dryer units which serve the entire resort. This puts you in a competition with your neighbors. The pool area is adequate and family oriented (no frills like an outside bar). You have to sign out towels which is rather weird for us but we are Marriott owners. No wireless in the units but available in the main clubhouse area. There is only one laptop for those of us who did not bring our own and once again this could be upgraded.
Partial maid service twice during the week (towels changed if left on floor, trash emptied, not much more) with a full cleaning mid-week. Service personnel answered our requests quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. Each unit has its own parking which saves a lot of hassle and stress (we have driven around resort parking lots at 10 pm looking for a spot to park). The walking trail was right behind our unit and we made good use of it on our first full day.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing place to use as home base in this wonderful area.

After spending time in time shares in Hawaii and Central California I expected much more than is provided at River Pointe. Although the units are ok, they are on par with a Super 8. Our unit had ants all over the bathroom and staff was notified. When we returned from the wineries that day there were more than before, used a "natural" bug spray - did nothing to kill or drive them away. We were told we could move to a different unit - if we did so in the next 15 minutes!! We did it. And we ended up in a trailer fitted for handicapped persons. The unit had about half the storage of our first unit and the shower was not suitable to stand in. I was livid at this point and my wife intervened. We were then given our third unit in two days/2 hours! The rest of our stay was standard. The towels are changed twice a week (every day at Super 8) and our last unit was very clean. Harkening back to Hawaii and Central Cali, there is no privacy on any deck. For a time share swap this was a sub-standard move. The pool was ok but the hot tubs need cleaned daily, like the grounds. There is a laptop computer for guest use where the other places I have stayed have 2 or more computers for guests. Activities were cancelled without notification.

River Pointe is very well situated for winery visits and it is quiet at night. A lot would need to be done before I would stay there again and I will not recommend this place to others.

The location is perfect for touring the wine country. The grounds were very well kept and the units were clean. True, it's a mobile unit, but we found ours to be spotless with a good-sized and functional kitchen, one bedroom and a decent sized living room area. Lots of storage. There is a walking/running trail on the grounds that was perfect (and keeps you off the streets). Gas grills are available scattered around the grounds and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All the grills were Weber, were clean and were functional. All-in-all a great place, especially in terms of location, value and cleanliness.

We booked the stay through a friend who was familiar with the property. We checked it out on line. We were expecting cottages but instead found mobile units on a fixed pad. It was well landscaped and very tidy. The units were very clean and comfortable, a bit small but adequate and the staff was great. There was a trail just outside our unit we enjoyed each morning that followed the Napa River. It was great for walking and exercising. Pool was clean and enjoyable and the laundry facility was free. The location was very convenient to local restaurants (wonderful food) and a good home base for the wine country tours. The neighbors had loud music Saturday afternoon but it stopped at sundown. Overall our experience was great.

We just stayed a week and enjoyed the trip. The units are on wheels like everyone has mentioned. Inside they are very clean and nice with everything you need except a regular oven, but the units are also very small. What is considered to hold four people I wouldn’t put more than two people in. We had a 2 bedroom unit which like others have mentioned are connected by the patio which was nice. But you need a two bedroom for 4 people.
The pool was good, not great. The Jacuzzi by the pool could have been cleaner. But there was another by our unit which was much bigger and cleaner. The gym if you want to call it that was a very small room with a few pieces of equipment. Put 3 people in the room and it’s crowded. So we walked everyday instead.
The grounds are kept up very well. There is a decent Mexican food restaurant across the street and Wal Mart about a block away within walking distance. The river walk which goes for about 2.4 mile round trip was great. You are less than a mile away from the first winery for tasting and that is the start of the Silverado trail. Overall this was a very good stay and we would do it again. The location was perfect. We traded a lock-off unit (studio) for a 2 bedroom unit so I was pleased with the trade. If we had to trade a 2 for a 2 we wouldn’t have been so pleased. It wouldn’t have been a fair trade to me. So that’s something to keep in mind. But we would do it again.

Wife and I spent (5) nights at River Pointe in March 2009. Our unit was a 2-bedroom which consisted of a full modular unit and half of another modular unit. The (2) units are connected by a deck that contains a small table with chairs.

These are not "trailers". Rather, they are modular units on wheels. The exterior is very well maintained. The inside of the units have cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors, very nice furniture and comfortable beds. Units are extremely clean.

The staff were very friendly, checkin was a breeze. They offer a few nice events during the week, including wine tasting in the evening and a welcome breakfast.

River Pointe will also suggest restaurants, wineries and local attractions. In addition, they will coordinate shipping your wine purchases for you at a rate much cheaper than the local UPS Store.

I would stay here again without hesitation.

We had a great time in Napa. This resort is very small but in a great location. We had the opportunity to visit about six winery s per day because there were no lines like in the summer months. We picked our 12 favorite wines we cannot get at home and brought them back with us. The resort itself was great in that they came 3 times to change towels and clean etc. The staff was fantastic and always willing to help us.
