The Napa Inn Bed & Breakfast is a middling inn that is overpriced.
I was under the impression that this would be a great place to stay for our honeymoon based on reviews read elsewhere, but once I got there I was disappointed.
The staff are friendly and courteous, but the Inn itself is a "fixer upper."
We stayed in the "Madelaine" room which is on the top floor. The interior was bright and airy, but felt like a dorm room.
The carpet was littered with stains and smudges. Drip marks ran down the chimney, steel strapping used to hang ductwork stuck out of the wall where they hung a tree limb. The window would only close two inches short of shut and the mirror was hung on the wall by running a sheetrock screw in at an angle right through the surrounding metal latticework.
None of the furnishings had any character and all looked as if they had been bought at Wal-Mart. Cheap plastic lamps wobbled when you touched them and the $29 radio/boombox didn't add much of a special touch or romance.
The bathroom is very cramped and if you're much over five feet tall you'll have to deal with the roofline cutting through the shower stall. Also, you probably won't want to stare too long at the mildew stains on the tile.
For $230/night it could have been a lot better. Next time I'll stay somewhere else.
