We stayed here one night - very comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom. We were fortunate to be able to spend some time with the owners who are very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was unusual and delicious. The bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner are made inhouse.
A lot of personality and warmth.
Looking forward to our next trip.

We stayed at the OWL from 1/8 thru 1/11-2014. We arrived late evening in the middle of the week after a horrible rental car experience from Hertz/Hotwire at SFO. I liked the fact that I received an email the afternoon of our arrival as a sort of pre-welcome and a way to let the inn know of our delay at SFO. Upon arrival it was very quiet (as I said it was mid week in the middle of winter) but Melanie was still there waiting to check us in and make sure we were comfortable. We stayed in the cottage which was very cozy and gave you that "right at home" feel. The gas fireplace was wonderful since it was a bit brisk outside. After arriving back to our room from getting a bite to eat at Pica-Pica in the Oxbow Market we were pleasantly surprised with a note that said we could expect a complementary breakfast in our room the next morning which was a wonderful touch after a long and fairly intense day of traveling to get there.

After a relaxing nights sleep (bed was wonderful) we awoke, showered (hot water temp & pressure was perfect) and were ready about the time Janet & Olga brought a fabulous breakfast, juice, coffee etc... to our room. Janet took the time to give us some suggestions on wineries to visit etc. (which we appreciated). Once we arrived back at the inn that evening we stopped by for a few "goodies for the guest" they have every evening and went over to the other property and enjoyed the tasting with Matthew and some other guests. The facility is beautiful and the warm and cozy atmosphere really allows for relaxing, meeting new people and enjoying conversation.

By the time we checked out on sat. morning there was a full house for breakfast and that warm/cozy atmosphere just continued to carry over. The entire staff was very pleasant and attentive, the breakfast was wonderful. We plan to try a different room type on our next trip (gonna be hard to bypass the cottage though) and are looking forward to our return.

The place was awesome. Wonderful location right around downtown. Most of the attractions were in walking distance except for the wineries of course. But they are probably around 30 mins drive if not less from the inn. The inn-keepers were very pleasant and accessible. The room was very cozy. They serve gourmet breakfast and they tasted delicious. One of the days we stayed there, the inn-keeper served us breakfast in bed. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Napa and the Old World Inn was perfect for our needs - easy walking to a good choice of restaurants in the evening and the location was peaceful in spite of being on a fairly busy road. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, offering advice on restaurants and then booking them for us. The room (La Biblioteca) was very comfortable with lots of character, as was the rest of the inn. The breakfasts were good, offering a choice if the set breakfast was not to your taste, and the communal set up we find is always good for meeting people. The 9.00am breakfast is possibly a little later than we would like, but not really a problem when spending your days wine tasting. We attended the wine tasting organised by the inn one evening - we thought that was a nice touch.
The Napa and Sonoma valleys were beautiful in the October sunshine, even if you're not that interested in wine. We are, and had a great time. Cline vineyard in the Sonoma recommended for a friendly atmosphere and good wine. Mumm vineyard is in a beautiful setting and worth visiting - great photography gallery.

4 of us girls needed a place that we felt safe and was within walking distance of restaurants. We were in the next door cottage in the adjoining two bedrooms with one bathroom downstairs. It was fairly minimal but the beds were very comfortable, the tv's were nice, it was quiet and the bathroom had 2 sinks, although a very small shower. Breakfast was also good, having various souffle's and fruit. We also had to check in late but the process went seamlessly and we had no trouble.

Spent three nights as part of an anniversary celebration. Ruth greeted us as if she had been waiting all day-made us feel so welcome. We were in La Biblioteca which was perfect for us. Breakfasts were delicious but I agree with others in wishing there was more flexibility in the time. We had a 10:00 am tour scheduled and felt pressured to eat and be ready to leave. The evening wine tasting was a little odd. Have to walk across a busy street thru a parking lot and into a basement. Probably explains the low turnout. The location was great for walking downtown and the Inn had arrangements with several restaurants for VIP treatment. Quibbles aside everyone we talked to was very helpful and if ever in Napa again we would probably stay here.

From fruited water and cookies on arrival, wine tasting and desserts in the evening and a great breakfast this was a very comfortable place to spend a few nights. Breakfast is served at shared tables which gave the opportunity to talk to other guests, take advice on the best wineries to visit and where there were bargains to be had. We ate in two of the recommended restaurants and they were both excellent value for money with good food at reasonable prices.
