“Beautiful property, good location, great stay!”
Reviewed 18 May 2009

As with all Embassy Suites, the rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. I requested a room on the first floor with a king bed, and the front desk was able to get me the room that wanted. Staff were all very friendly...provided great custome service. Asked for some winery recommendations and they happily provided us with some maps and two for one wine tasting coupons.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. The live swans are a nice addition to the ambiance. However, the green dyed water in the "lake" is a bit over the top...a bit tacky.

Breakfast in the morning was fresh, hot and delicious. The cooks were friendly too. The managers reception is always a nice touch at Emassy Suites, and was nice here too.

Anyway, an overall great stay. Real short drive to downtown napa (no longer than 5 minutes) and close to tons of great wineries.

The only negative coments is the fact that this hotel charges for internet in your room ($10.95 I think) -- free computer use in the business center. Also, there is not a gym on the hotel premises...although they provide you with a coupon for free entry to a nearby gym.

At first they tried to charge me $239 per night, which for this hotel is way too expensive. I would not pay more than $189.00. The hotel was nice in the fact that there are 2 seperate rooms, a small living area with a very nice flat screen and a little kitchen area that came in very handy. The bedroom also had a nice flat screen. THey do charge $10.00 per day for internet, but have a business center in the lobby which you can use free of charge.

We enjoy our morning workouts and there is no fitness center, but they do give free passes to the local gym which is a straight shot down the street from the hotel. There is also a free breakfast, which is very nice; omelets, fruits, pancakes, cereals, muffins bagels. Not just your ordinary continental.

The rooms were ok, smelled a little funny and ours was very noisy (right next to the freeway). Not much to do right in the vicinity, but close to the interstate if you are going to do the winery thing.

I guess I would recommend as long as you were getting a good deal and ask for a room away from the freeway.

This is the second time we choose this hotel in Napa. Our first time was in 2005 and everything went without problems. We have stay in several embassy suites in Florida, Washington DC and Napa...pretty much where there is one we stay. You know what to expect and we have not been dissapointed in any of the different Embassy Suites we have stayed in. This year the rooms have changed their decor to different levels from the standard, romantic and executive, although the room layout is the same, the decorations differ. The rooms are very clean. We made the mistake to accept a low level floor and we changed due to the person above us walking constantly and making noise all night long (don't know what was wrong). We ask ed the staff to change us on the following morning before our tour. Front desk instructed us to pack our luggage and leave them by the door inside the room for housekeeping to transfer them to our new room once it was available. Well, after our tour we asked for the key to our new room and the luggage was already inside. Problem solved!
We love the location because it is close to the highway, Downtown Napa and Lucky grocery stores. This time of the year is off season for wine country so the price was reasonable. The staff is always helpful. Front desk staff Dave was always helping us with anything we needed and recommending things to do. We had the best time in Napa and our stay was very relaxing! The only thing I didn't not like was the new double door in the bathroom...it was inconvenient to enter without opening both doors...it was just annoying to me but did not affect my stay at all. Something we didn't know four years ago....From this hotel drive about 20 minutes to Vallejo and catch the Baylink Ferry to San Francisco. Park in their parking lot next to the ferry bldg and you are set to go without the hasle of driving. We drove to SFO 4 years ago....finding parking is not easy and will cost you big $$.

This motel was fine, but I expected more at a Hilton property in this neighborhood. Rooms were comfortable, but not spectacular. Bathroom was really small, and needs updating. Probably should have looked at HGI down the street as it is a newer property.

I needed to get away to some sunshine with my two kids during Spring break for 1 night and after reading the reviews here on TA decided to take a chance on the Napa Embassy Suites. Our executive level room was upgraded with iron-style beds, bedding ,dark tone furniture and was very nice (not the largest embassy rooms we have ever stayed in) As part of the executive package there was a chilled bottle of wine waiting in the fridge.(and of good quality , a nice surprise!) Beds are quite comfortable and the room is pretty clean. We were told the outdoor pool was closed upon arrival by the front desk clerk but another employee piped in and said it was now open. It was a small pool and not heated enough, also very dirty with leaves, as it had rained the day before. When we tried the indoor pool, it was better and adjoined by a "very hot "hot-tub. The outdoor grounds are pretty, but on day 1 the water area/fountains with swans were being repaired and it was noisy. It wrapped up by 5PM and then by morning the water re-filled and the landscape was beautiful again. The manager's reception served good cocktails(I was told) and the Cabernet I sampled was fine, not great, but better than I have had at other "free" servings. Chips/salsa/celery/carrots and fresh popped movie theater style popcorn were the snacks, the kids were happy with their slushes from the bar, as they had machines to form the base for daiquiris, etc.we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was a bit overpriced and took 2 hours from beginning to end (not great with 2 young kids.) After inquiring, I found that the server (yes, there was just one!) was also delivering room service. How about some appropriate staffing???
The morning breakfast is traditional Embassy, omelettes to order, pancakes, cereals, fruit, it fit our needs just fine and we found a table after waiting just 1-2 minutes, wehad arrived for the last 1/2 hour of the serving time.

I would recommend this hotel for the overall experience and value.

The hotel is very beautiful!! Our room was vey nice, the beds are SUPER comfortable! You have to pay $10.00 for internet. However, the so called "free" buffet breakfast was bad.. very very bad, the omelets were terrible, flat, tasteless & nothing in them, when we asked for certain ingredients in our omelettes basically we got about a half a teaspoon of stuff and the ladies that make them were EXTRA rude. Either eat the fruit and cereal and do not have any interaction with the MEAN, hateful omelette ladies who clearly HATE thier job!! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere to eat! Other than that the hotel is beautiful.

We just had a one night stay and really liked the hotel. The rooms are great with a bedroom and sitting room. Our room was in the couryard which is a lovely setting. The Manager has a free welcome drink for guests nightly which was a nice touch.

As there is not much around the hotel within walking distance we decided to eat here and we were not disappointed. The standard of the food was really good and it was reasonably priced also.

It was a Tuesday night and the bar and restaurant was fairly quiet. They had the TV on in the background and I asked them to put on American Idol which they happily did! (Apparently you can't get Fox in the room) My husband is not a huge fan so he went back to our room and I stayed watching it. The staff (in particular Anna) were great and looked after me as I was on my own and they made me feel very welcome.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was excellent (buffet).

All in all a great stay.
