“Nice and comfortable”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights here for a short getaway, and it's pretty comfortable. The rooms have been updated, but for some reason they kept the old doors for the bathroom. There's a microwave and fridge for leftovers which is great as I hate wasting food.

The only complaint is that breakfast gets really crowded and there isn't enough seating. The outdoor patio doesn't have heat lamps, and it's still too cold to eat outside. Also, they don't keep a bin of pool towels by the pool. You have to find someone inside and flag them for pool towels.

Finally, it was a bit pricey for March (not quite peak season). I guess based on others' reviews, there were groupons available but we didn't have this. So although the hotel was nice and comfortable, the value wasn't great.

I'd probably give this a 3.5 star rating. We spent last night here after doing some wine tasting. We had bought a "coupon" off of Amazon Local for a weekend stay for $119 a night and came with free breakfast, free wifi, 2 for 1 tastings at V Sattui Winery and a California Champagne split (Cook's - really?). So for that price is was a very good value. The "market rate" was supposed to be $276 and at that price it wouldn't have been a good deal. The location was good for us since it's at the North end of Napa and closer to St Helena where we like to go. The property has been updated some and it looks pretty good with exception of the doors. That was a factor when our neighbor - who talked louder than when we shout - woke us up in the AM, because the adjoining doors were so thin. Luckily it wasn't terribly early. The room itself was decent sized and had good furniture and mattress. The vanity items (soaps etc) were above average. The wifi signal was strong, the breakfast was quite complete and was better than most complimentary hotel food, and was served 7 - 10am. The pool and pool area was clean and well maintained (though the water was a little too cool for us). The gym was decent but no free weights. I chose to go for a run outside and the surrounding area was perfect. All in all it was a pleasant experience and for that price, we'd definitely come come back.

For a "Premier" hotel, the rooms are great, the matresses average, and the expectations of the staff that we will accept what they provide. My greatest dislike was that external security doors to the hotel (those requiring key access) were purposefully left unlocked at all hours and often propped open.

I was meeting some girls in the Saint Helena/Calistoga area for a girls night out but didn't want to pay the exorbitant prices in those areas. The Best Western Ivy was right off the main road leading into those towns and we got a great deal so I booked it. It was better than I ever expected. Decor was very current and the ivy theme played throughout. Beds were so soft and cozy, I didn't want to get out. When we woke up the next morning we saw a nice pool that we would have loved to have tested out and there was an Italian restaurant right next door that one of our friends from the Napa Valley said had a great reputation - even among those in the heart of this gourmet valley. It was only about 20 minutes from Saint Helena so it was worth the short scenic drive for the great price. My only regret was not staying there another night but I vowed to come back again with my husband for a romantic getaway next time we're out in the Napa Valley. It's a great starting point for all the quaint wine country towns between Napa and Calistoga.

while the location is between napa and yountville not in a town for walking, it is still very convenient to the napa valley. the price was excellent for the level of the hotel. some issues with broadcast network channels 1st day or so but it was fixed and they gladly gave a bill credit.

Very nice hotel. Very modern and accommodating. Good food and drinks within walking distance. Freindly Staff! We arrived late and the people at the front desk were still awating our arrival so they could check us in for the night. We woke up and had a good breakfast in the lobby and then checked out in seconds. Thanks to a good night's sleep at the Best Western PREMIER Ivy Hotel Napa, we had a great next day!

We stayed for five nights as this was our first trip to Napa. Pros: comfortable beds and pillows. Nothing else I'm afraid. Cons: 1) hotel's satellite system for television doesn't work. Only a few channels are functional. When we spoke with the front desk about it they said problem is ongoing. It never worked the five days we were there. 2) breakfast buffet shuts down when they run out of food. You heard me right. They do not order food for entire hotel, but rather have so much on hand and when it's gone, it's gone. One morning they were entirely closed and another they had already ran out of sausage by 9 am. 3) our tub was clogged. It took two days after I called to be fixed. 4) one entire side of the hotel is about 10 feet from a road so if you're lucky enough to get a room there, plan on hearing cars and trucks starting about 6 am. Please find another hotel and don't bother with this one.
