“Awesome place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2011

We love this place. From our reservationist through our visit the staff have been great. The Inn was built within the structures of an historic mill. Consequently, the unique rooms seem to vary in size and shape. We have a great room with a balcony overlooking the river and general store. If you are looking for a quiet country setting, you should know that the downtown location does come with a very little bit of downtown type noise. What you get in return is a vibrant downtown experience. Park your car, taste great wines, pick a top shelf restaurant, listen to live music everywhere and walk home to an awesome hotel. How cool is that! If you like unique, well appointed hotels in a great location, the Napa River Inn is the place.

Nice and Comfortable. We went with a few couples for a Napa weekend. The rooms with views are very small, and the rooms without views were larger. Clean and nicely decorated. Our room was quite large, but was on a noisy street corner and the fireplace did not work. We asked for help with it and no one came.
Overall it is a great location in Napa for walking around town and convenient to nice restaurants.

Room Tip: Rooms on the River side are very small but have views.

Napa River Inn was a beautiful experience. My best friend and I wanted to pamper ourselves while in Napa. Napa River Inn was spectacular. The beds offered complete relaxation. The Girls Gone Wine Package offered discounts to a local spa which was unbelievable. We also had a shuttled wine tour day which was so much fun! The rooms were cozy. The location was perfect for downtown Napa shopping. Hotel staff was fantastic. I cannot rave enough about my experience.

With 2 restuarants, a general store, a delicious bakery and more in the mill complex, this is a great base for exploring Napa Valley. It's easy to find and there's plenty of parking available.

Reception displays details of activities in the area, plus there are ipads, complementary coffee and cucumber iced water (delicious!) for guests. As well as our breakfast vouchers we received comlementary drinks vouchers for the club beside the General store where we saw two bands after dinner one evening.

Delicious breakfast comes from Sweetie Pies bakery (available in the bakery or via room service) . My friend was hooked on their morning buns in no time. Breakfast is also available in the Napa General Store - we ate there with our pilot and fellow flight mates after our balloon ride with Balloons Above The Valley.

We ate at the excellent Angele restaurant at the end of the mill building and it was so good that we booked and returned the next night.

There was a problem with our initial room so we were moved to 102 in the Embarcadero. It's a seriously spacious room with an enormous and unbelievably comfortable bed with gorgeous linens. It was the best sleep I had all trip. The CD player with a couple of mellow CDs was a nice touch and it was the only hotel we stayed in where there was a kettle as well as a coffee maker, which i very much appreciated.

The only minor irritations that we had were regarding the power sockets which didn't seem to work at all at one side of the room and the bathroom (the shower took a while to get warm and the energy saving light incredibly slow to respond) but neither would put me off staying there again or recommending the hotel. The "very good" rating for value is a reflection of our great satisfaction with room 102 (excellent vaue) tempered by the disappointment and frustration we'd have felt if the initial problem hadn't existed and we'd had to stay in our initial room which was tiny.

Room Tip: Room 102 in the Embarcadero building was wonderfully spacious.

We arrived for a two-night stay and captured a river view room with balcony which was delightful. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet although on occasion we heard water running from the upper floor but it was not at all an issue. We could watch the Wine Train on the tracks across the river which was an added treat. The breakfasts from Sweetie Pie's were delightful with a nice selection to choose from, and both mornings they were delivered on time by a very friendly and gracious staff member. My only disappointment was with the yogurt parfait which I ordered on the side. The yogurt was standard Greek yogurt and the granola had very little sweetness, making it a rather bland and very tart parfait. But all of our other choices were well prepared and tasty.

We were able to walk to the downtown Napa areas where we enjoyed meals at Norman Rose Tavern and Ristorante Allegria. It was nice to feel vitality from some segments of the downtown area as Napa continues to build on their renaissance and restoration. It would be nice to have more shops open, but the lovely wine and craft fair on Saturday was a pure delight! I found several treasures on Saturday and everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

Our Wine Train excursion was on Friday with friends, and it was a convenient drive from the Napa River Inn to the train station. Overall, we had a lovely experience and we will certainly recommend this hotel to friends.

Very noisy so if you are on the first level as I was, you can hear anyone that walks past your window all through the day and night. Should be a different price considering some rooms are much bigger than others. We stayed in rooms 105,106,107 and one of the rooms was much larger than the other two and the other two rooms were very different sizes too but we paid the same for all of them. I had also requested two beds in each room but was told on arrival that there was only one bed in each of the rooms. The rooms are clean and very nice inside but the hotel feeling is one of a motel and the price should be the same. There is also no pool which is a disadvantage in my opinion.
