“Surprisingly good stay at a chain hotel”
Reviewed 10 December 2011

We chose to stay at the Marriott on our last trip to Napa because it was our most reasonable option. All the places we tried to book were either very expensive or fully booked for our dates and we'd rather spend our money in Napa on dinners and wine than hotel. What makes this hotel such a great deal is the staff. From our check-in with Blossom at the front desk to the concierge and the staff in the breakfast room, everyone was friendly and helpful. We had requested a quiet room and the first room they gave us wasn't, but they gave us 2 other options and one room was perfect. The rooms are fine for the type of hotel and it was a nice perk to have breakfast included. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Bought facials,(30 minutes) full body massage( 50 minutes), and scalp treatment as a 60th birthday present for self and spouse, the staff forgot about us while we waited to be called in, until I walked out to the front desk in my robe asking about our services, they stated when I booked the treatments that a glass of champagne was included, had to ask for it, facial entailed a scrub, no mask, they poured some sort of smelly oil inside my hair as the scalp treatment, barley felt the focus on specific muscles, the massage was all generalized, and shorter than the 50 minutes I had booked us for. Would definitely NOT recommend this day spa to anyone, very mediocre! We did not stay the night in a room so no comment on that...

Room Tip: This was only a day at their spa

We were greeted by Blossom at the front desk, she was Efficient, Kind and Very Funny!
She is a Star Employee, who was helpful. We were celebrating a Special Occasion, and she directed us to a Fabulous restaurant that 1st night, she really set the stage for a memorable wk in Napa.
The rooms in this hotel are newly renovated, they were clean, with comfy beds, flat screened T.V.'s and the outstanding Bath and Body Products.
We were given tasting coupons fo several Wineries, very nice of the Hotel.
Wine tasting each night at the Hotel between 5 and 6 was included, and than you could sit by the pool and relax, such a nice setting.
There is also coin laundry which proved useful.
The gym was nice, but took the opportunity to run outside as the weather was warm.
The concirge Level Room was worth the money as it comes with Many extra perks.
I would stay at this Hotel again, great location and amenities.

We stayed here recently because we wanted to go to Napa, but we made our plans rather late and most of the other hotels were either sold out or really expensive. We figured that a Marriott would be at the very least a standard, acceptable hotel room. We were disappointed by the room - it didn't feel like a standard Marriott room at all - it felt just a little bit better than a motel room. The room just felt old and dated, and gave me a bit of the "icks", even though it was mostly clean, I guess. And we paid $350+ for our "almost-motel" room. The shower quality in the bathroom was so poor that I had trouble rinsing the shampoo out of my hair. Other points: service was fine, nothing special, although they had to be reminded about a couple of things regarding our check-in. Location is also fine if all you want is a hotel within a short driving distance to the main wineries. But it's not a charming location at all - near some strip malls right off the highway. Basically, there is nothing special about this place that would make it worth it to stay in.

The hotel is nice but what made this a great stay was the staff. Blossom at the front desk has outstanding customer service and Laura at the concierge desk was very helpful in making recommendations and reservations. Hotel is a very convenient location to the wineries and services. Room was very clean and spacious, bed was very comfortable. Would definitely book this hotel again if we come back to Napa Valley.

This is the 3rd time that I been to the Napa Marriott. It is convenient to the wineries of Napa Valley. The concierge always has complimentary or 2-4-1 tasting coupons so stop by there before venturing out. The lobby has an upscale feel with a beautiful gas fireplace in the sitting area. Wine tasting in the lobby is also included every evening from 5-6. There is also an outside sitting area with a firepit that has comfy couches and chairs. I stayed on the 2nd floor looking at the pool. Not the most quiet location. People were in the spa til 10:30 at night and their voices were easily heard from my room. My recommendation would be to stay in a room facing the landscaping off to the side of the pool instead. That is where I was originally, however, the thermostat wasn't working so I asked to be moved to another room. Bath and Body products were complimentary along with tea/coffee in the room. There is also a small fridge and safe. Beds were comfy except I would have liked better pillows. All in all, a nice stay and I would return.

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for four days and found it to be a good place to start our vacation- the perfect base for our ventures in the valley.

The hotel was packed with Napa Valley wine tasters yet the service was very good. The room was fairly large and very clean. (Every Marriot property I have stayed at has always been very clean) We had a first floor room with access to the garden courtyard. The chairs outside our room gave us an opportunity to try some of the wine we had purchased.

The hotel’s location is a key reason to select it. It is located right off RT 29 and within walking distance of a Starbucks, Trader Joes and Target. It’s just a short drive to Rutherford and Yountville with their well known restaurants like Mustards and Ad Hoc and wineries like Mondavi and BV. And, it is very easy to get to the Hess Winery and to the Carneros Highway that will take you to Sonoma.

We had breakfast at the hotel and the food was good. We talked to other visitors who had also had dinner there and they were pleased, if not surprised, with the quality of the food.

If you decide to spend more time at the hotel, there is lots to do. You can participate in the wine tastings, visit the Spa and Salon, use the fitness room, sit around the fire pit at night and swim in the pool.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The property is very nice and the rooms were clean and reasonably priced for Napa Valley. The staff was very pleasant and very efficient.

Room Tip: First floor garden courtyard is a good place to have your room
