I stay in Marriott hotels all over the world. I do it for the consistency and to splurge, usually at a JW property. The Napa Marriott is a great pick if you're looking for a centrally located base to do wine country. Downtown Napa is a couple miles away and convenient to get to. There are plenty of wonderful food options close by and you can pretty much drive in any direction and run into a world-class winery.
The rooms are comfortable and dated. The hotel pool is quite inviting and the Bloody Mary condiment bar is close by. It makes for a great little getaway with no shortage of distractions to keep you entertained.
Staff are tuned in to the food and wine scene and offer knowledgable suggestions for getting exactly what you want out of your Napa Valley tour.

We got upgraded to a a big room that fit our family of 5 perfectly. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room are nice and clean and the pool area and Jacuzzi are nice. The business launch could be updated with better food but it is not a major issue for us.

I have spent now over 3,000 nights staying in Marriotts or put another way over 8 years solid. I do that because of the consistent level of service. For the first I have had to check out because of the terrible level of service at check out and the attitude of the duty manager to our check in problems.

My problems were to do with room availability, undelivered commitments and absolutely no recognition of Marriott status.

During the whole abortive check in process not once did either the check in clerk or duty manager appologize or do anything to diffuse a worsen situation. I've stayed in the hotel several times before and never had this type of problem.

Bell, concierge and waiters on the other hand in the hour and a half we waited were marvelous and could treat management a lesson on good customer service.

I have never experienced such rude service from a hotel. Having waited for our rooms without apology, they were not as described, the hotel is obviously very poorly mangaed Do not stay in this hotel. Do not give them your money.

I don't write to many reviews. But after the great service and warm friendly smiles and a can do attitude I had to write this. Amber Bowser was the person at the front desk she took great care of us. We arrived late and even though they were almost sold out. She bent over back words to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She even put us into a different room (at our request) the next day while we were away on meetings. Marriott is blessed to have her at this property. It's a busy hotel with events going on and it being close to the wine country. I've been at this property many times. Her attitude was refreshing after we arrived there so late. Thanks again for a great stay. A Platinum Member.

I might choose a different type of accommodation if on vacation but this hotel grew on me over the course of a 4 day visit. The rooms are standard Marriott but updated and clean, my bathroom and bed were very nice. The bar is fun and so is the pool area - the water was a perfect refreshing temperature on a very hot day. The bar has a good vibe and there is ample courtyard seating, it is very spacious. We ate 3 lunches and 1 dinner here and I felt the food and service were high quality. Everyone enjoyed their meals but note that the fish entrees are surprisingly small portions. A better beer and coffee selection would also be welcome. There is an evening wine tasting in the lobby and the spa and fitness center are across the parking lot. I rented a bike on property and was impressed how easy they made it, also inexpensive (helmet and water are included). They provide a map with suggested routes which worked out great. I would also recommend the bike path to downtown Napa which runs alongside the train tracks - not the prettiest bike path in the world but still a good activity. You do not need a car here with many shops close by and tours departing regularly. Staff was helpful. All in all it was a good time!

check in: heat was on in room and was 84 degrees during the week in CA where Napa got into the high 90's. It took 6 hours to cool to below 75 degrees. Try sleeping in an 80 degree room. Not restful.

First day: awoken by roof construction at 7am.

Second day: awoken by roof construction at 6am sharp. Also, I was greeted by a Luke-warm shower...

Needless to say this hotel is not up to par, especially for the $233 price tag we paid. They failed to meet the bare minimums.

The good stuff: really nice entrance way, free wine tasting daily, beautiful fire pits.

Room Tip: Ensure it's truly smoke free. They said ours was but it still has an odd scent.
