We check Trip Advisor almost always before making a reservation. The reviewer for this hotel was "spot on." Clean, spacious rooms, uber friendly staff. More of an inn than hotel or motel. Main building has maybe 20 rooms that have access from the main first floor living room, or from the second floor balcony. Following TA's advice we booked room 402 which is in a small, secondary building. Huge room, very clean. Actual downtown Napa is probably a 20 min. walk so that could be a drawback if you want a downtown experience.

Room Tip: I think we were in Room 402 was was much more private than staying in the Inn proper.

Have now stayed here 4 times and have always had a great experience. Very reasonably priced and they give you free breakfast.

Breakfast is continental style but they make fresh waffles every day.

Highly recommend this hotel if you need a nice room with breakfast and easy access to the highway.

This is a small hotel with amazingly friendly and helpful owners/Innkeepers. Loved the fresh baked cookies every evening and muffins at breakfast each morning. Great hotel, we will stay here again!

I recently stayed here for two nights with a group of friends and we all loved it. The location is great; it's only about a mile from downtown Napa. You could probably walk if the weather is nice. The customer service was excellent. The front desk people were super friendly and offered us some good suggestions on restaurants, etc. Loved the warm fresh baked cookies and milk at 6 PM every night! Definitely a highlight of the trip. :) The breakfast is also amazing as well. Fresh fruit, homemade pastries, etc - you can't go wrong! Parking is convenient and easy and the hotel is very quiet at night. We were a little concerned that we would be able to hear other guests (since the lobby is right outside the door and there are only about 25 rooms overall I'd guess) but people really were very respectful and quiet.

Overall the place is a great location, has a bed-and-breakfast feel (with a hotel pricetag) and is super cozy. Several nights we hung out on the couch in front of the fireplace. You definitely feel like you are staying in someone's home here. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent 2 days at the Elm House Inn (Nov. 3 and 4, 2011). This inn is so romantic, with a beautiful garden, very cordial and helpful employees, wonderful big cozy clean rooms, very nice continental breakfast, and a great location. It was a very pleasant experience. I had a wonderful time in Napa and when we return, we will head to the Elm House Inn. I will gladly recommend it to my friends and family. We thought it was a great value.

Room Tip: Ask for the bungalows. They provide more privacy.

We stayed at the Best WEstern Elm House Inn in Napa on Nov. 4th weekend. It was a charming and friendly place, very small and cozy. I have to rave about the breakfast spread each morning that is complimentary. It was absolutely delicious, healthy, fresh and a great variety. The staff even makes custom waffles and serves, it's like dining in a little cozy cafe. The hotel itself was clean, beds comfy, all amenities were fine, it's not upscale but it's just easy and has what you need. They also serve complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at 6pm each day, yum! It was a nice place to stay, not particularly within walking distance to any restaurants or the downtown shops, but within 2 miles at the most!

If you are going to Napa or anywhere around the wine region you need to stay in this hotel. It's amazing! After a whole day of wine tasting, eating, walking, picture taking and driving, the only thing you want is to get to your hotel not only to be welcomed by a lovely person but with an amazing cookie (secret recipe), milk, coffee or tea and a huge smile!
I read all the reviews done for this place and well they all were right, the place is lovely. You feel like a guest in someones house. The garden in the back is so lovely I just went to the gazebo to sit and contemplate.
But the most important thing is the amazing staff, or as I call them the Best Western Fairies. Always with a smile, always willing to do more than you ask, and there will always be a freshly baked waffle at your breakfast table.
Thank you all for those amazing two days! This Best Western ROCKS!

Room Tip: Always try the morning waffles, and try to get back to your hotel around 6-7 pm (before dinner) so y...
