“Very nice”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We enjoyed several nights here. The hotel is a small inn rather than a large BW and it feels it in every way, with a cozy lobby and the friendly/helpful staff to the home baked muffins and cookies. So don't expect a large pool or fitness room. Our nice sized room opened to a small courtyard garden with fountains and hot tub. Nice residential area and although it is adjacent to highway the road noise was not a problem (with our room location). It was a good walk down to Oxbow Market, which we did each morning, and most will want to drive. Continental breakfast was very good, and I liked the sweet potato waffles, the fresh baked muffins, and the many toppings for oatmeal.

Do not hesitate one moment in choosing this hotel. This was our first trip to Napa and certainly will not be our last. We will not hesitate to stay here again. It absolutely resembles a small and quaint B&B. The service is outstanding. Tom and Connie, along with the entire staff make your stay as enjoyable as can be. They know everyone's name as they walk through and are always willing to help out or answer any questions. They assisted with cabs, reservations, and dinner/wine tour recommendations. Each was spot on!!! Breakfast each morning was outstanding. You have to try the sweet potato waffles!!

Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 207 and it was terrific.

The best part of this hotel is the service and the staff. They are always smiling and helpful with all your needs. Tom and Connie are very knowledgable of the local area and happy to make recommendations about what/where to visit, what to expect from different wineries in the area, good restaurants in and around Napa. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They provide a good breakfast. And the hotel is conveniently located, close to restaurants, major roads leading to different wineries. We had a great time there will definitely stay there if we go back to Napa.

Many previous reviews have said it all: friendly staff, great service, comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast, and so on. After a three night stay, we can add just a few comments. First, "friendly" only begins to describe the people here. They accommodated our every need, even saving us a few of those wonderful cookies one evening when we were gone early for dinner, finding some lactose-free milk for us for breakfast, and printing out some needed directions for us. Second, some reviewers have been concerned about traffic noise. We did not notice that it was especially noisy; in any case, it's reasonable that a property near the freeway could be noisier than some others but it also means that access to and from the hotel is quite easy. By the way, the WiFi is pretty fast, quite reliable, and free (a good combination!). Finally, the price was reasonable by Napa standards. We were delighted and think you will be as well.

Room Tip: Rooms on second and third floors likely quieter.

I can't say enough good things about the Elm House--fabulous staff, great breakfast, super comfy environment....I have stayed here twice now with my 8 year old daughter, it's safe and she can go to the desk on her own. We love the evening cookies and the breakfast is amazing! I will stay here anytime I need a place in Napa!

Very helpful staff, within walking distance of downtown. Staff gave good recommendations about dining. Breakfast in the morning was as good as waffles as you will ever have. Comfortable beds and well worth spending at least a couple days here to see the Napa region.

Hotel and location are excellent but staff really made it happen. From our initial telephone call for reservations, to beyond checkout, we knew they really did care. Spotless, attractive hotel with a distinct bed and breakfast atmosphere at moderate rates, that were a bargain for the experience. The breakfast and personalized service were outstanding. Definitely not just "breakfast comes with the room" experience. Given that this was our first trip to wine country, Tom helped us set our daily itinerary and somehow, he hit the nail on the head in picking the right course for us each day. Our room was attractive, well appointed and again, spotless. Thank you TripAdvisor members for your accurate reviews and thank you Elm House for not resting on your laurels. There is not doubt that we would return.
