Best Western Plus Elm House Inn

We took a quick trip to Napa over Thanksgiving weekend and were so happy we chose to stay at Elm House Inn. There were so many things to like: A comfortable, tastefully decorated room; beautiful public spaces which were just being decorated for Christmas; a satisfying breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, sweet potato waffles and home-baked coffee cake; warm chocolate chip cookies (we want the recipe!); friendly staff; and gracious, welcoming innkeepers.

The location, near downtown Napa and with easy access to Highway 29, was convenient. We were especially impressed with the shops and restaurants in the revitalized downtown area.
All in all, we had a terrific experience and can't wait to return.

This was a completely wonderful experience for our family. It felt more like being home than in a hotel somewhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Always willing to give us restaurant suggestions, sight seeing tips, etc. A very, very positive experience for our family. It was located within walking(15-20mins) of the downtown area, but you could certainly drive if you wanted to. We'd stay here again if we have the opportunity and would recommend it to anyone we know that is going to Napa, CA!

This Best Western Premier was more like a cozy bed and breakfast with a price more like a hotel. The rooms and decor were very traditional and upscale. We stayed in the large main suite that was super clean and felt like home! The staff at Elm House are excellent and went above and beyond anything I expected. They were very knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations on places not to miss places to dine. After the first day out we returned to fresh baked cookies and hot beverages and were greeted in the morning with fresh baked waffles and a delicious assortment of muffins and breads in the main foyer at beautiful wooden tables with cloth linens and fresh flowers. Not a bad experience for the 2 nights we were there! An amazing place not to be missed!!

Room Tip: Not a bad room anywhere!

We enjoyed several nights here. The hotel is a small inn rather than a large BW and it feels it in every way, with a cozy lobby and the friendly/helpful staff to the home baked muffins and cookies. So don't expect a large pool or fitness room. Our nice sized room opened to a small courtyard garden with fountains and hot tub. Nice residential area and although it is adjacent to highway the road noise was not a problem (with our room location). It was a good walk down to Oxbow Market, which we did each morning, and most will want to drive. Continental breakfast was very good, and I liked the sweet potato waffles, the fresh baked muffins, and the many toppings for oatmeal.

Do not hesitate one moment in choosing this hotel. This was our first trip to Napa and certainly will not be our last. We will not hesitate to stay here again. It absolutely resembles a small and quaint B&B. The service is outstanding. Tom and Connie, along with the entire staff make your stay as enjoyable as can be. They know everyone's name as they walk through and are always willing to help out or answer any questions. They assisted with cabs, reservations, and dinner/wine tour recommendations. Each was spot on!!! Breakfast each morning was outstanding. You have to try the sweet potato waffles!!

Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 207 and it was terrific.

The best part of this hotel is the service and the staff. They are always smiling and helpful with all your needs. Tom and Connie are very knowledgable of the local area and happy to make recommendations about what/where to visit, what to expect from different wineries in the area, good restaurants in and around Napa. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They provide a good breakfast. And the hotel is conveniently located, close to restaurants, major roads leading to different wineries. We had a great time there will definitely stay there if we go back to Napa.

Many previous reviews have said it all: friendly staff, great service, comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast, and so on. After a three night stay, we can add just a few comments. First, "friendly" only begins to describe the people here. They accommodated our every need, even saving us a few of those wonderful cookies one evening when we were gone early for dinner, finding some lactose-free milk for us for breakfast, and printing out some needed directions for us. Second, some reviewers have been concerned about traffic noise. We did not notice that it was especially noisy; in any case, it's reasonable that a property near the freeway could be noisier than some others but it also means that access to and from the hotel is quite easy. By the way, the WiFi is pretty fast, quite reliable, and free (a good combination!). Finally, the price was reasonable by Napa standards. We were delighted and think you will be as well.

Room Tip: Rooms on second and third floors likely quieter.
