“Awesome Hotel”
Reviewed 3 February 2011

My friends and I stayed at the Elm House Inn for three nights at the end of January. This Inn is fabulous! It is very centrally located to all the Napa Valley wineries and the staff there is incredible. They know how to accommodate, please and make their guests happy. They were very helpful with printing of boarding passes, maps to locations and if there is a question they don’t know how to answer, they looked it up and got back to us. They had a box of treasure (coupons and two-for-one for the wineries) that they gladly shared with us. The lobby has a very cozy fireplace where we loved gathering around. The breakfast was better than continental with yummy fruit parfaits, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and made to order waffles or toasted bagels or English muffins. In the evening they had the best chocolate chip cookies that melted in your mouth. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Best Western Elm House from 1/16-1/23. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Tom the innkeeper was so friendly and helpful. He even allowed us to use the computer behind the desk when they experienced some problems with the laptop they offer for guest use. Their delicious breakfasts helped fuel us up for sight-seeing and we came home to fresh baked cookies each night (we joked that we could never eat like this at home.) Our top 3 restaurant experiences were Rutherford Grill, Rotisserie & Wine (Tyler Florence's new place) and Neela's Indian (sorry we waited till our last night, this deserved a second visit.) The Elm House Inn will always be our home away from home on future travels to the Napa Valley.

We stayed at the Elm House Inn, along with 10 other relatives in 5 other rooms, and the weekend stay was excellent. Very pleasant staff and owners, the rooms are clean and very nice, the common area/breakfast/living room is beautiful, room-to-room and street noise are non-existent, and overall we really liked the place. Parking is free and easy, Hwy 29 and downtown Napa are only a few blocks away, and the neighborhood is very walkable. Our only issue was with a very loud bathroom fan that went on whenever the bathroom light was turned on.

Not your typical Best Western, more like a bed and breakfast. Fresh baked treat every evening, along with clean rooms, cozy bed and linens, conveniently located to Napa Valley. Yummy breakfast with homemade waffles, fresh oatmeal with walnuts, berries, along with a variety of other choices. Great way to start your day ....

Always a pleasure to see a business in any industry that does everything right.

Best Western Elm House deserves the raving reviews. Surpassed my expectations.

Stayed here 2 nights mid-November, delicious free breakfast, nice patio area, cozy and private room, friendly staff. Considering the convenient location that gives easy access to the Napa area, this is a great bargain.

We booked two double rooms over the NYE holiday and received 2 2nd floor rooms. Both overlooked parking lots on different sides of the building but were quiet except for a few footsteps from 3rd floor guests. Since we arrived early and the hotel was booked, they allowed us to store a cake in the downstairs refrigerator while we went winery touring. Rooms were ready when we got back in the late afternoon.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. This isn't one of the 5* spa resorts like others in this area, so if you want a marble bathroom, gourmet room service, heated pool, and majestic view, book one of those and pay the higher rates. It is the cutest Best Western I've been to and resembles a mid-size Bed and Breakfast more than a chain hotel. Frankly I'd rather use the "saved" money towards the fabulous eateries!

We happened to get some glitter from wrapping paper on the floor and bedspread; housekeeping had it all cleaned up by the time we got back in during the evening. Nice to know they vacuum while guests are in residence, not just between guests.

Blankets in our room were red pseudo-suede duvet covers and very comfortable. We had a small sink outside the bathroom as well as another inside. Tub was a little shallower than standard but also very clean.

Breakfast was fantastic! Tea (w/ Stash tea bags) at most times as well. I'm a tea drinker and usually water from the hot water thermal carafe tastes like coffee but no such problems here! Could get water from the carafe or if it is out, ask the person at the front desk.

I believe they put out a laptop in the downstairs sitting area after breakfast for guest use. We had our own devices and were able to connect to the various free wifi spots. If one network is slow, be sure to try the others.

Tips: I'd avoid the 1st floor rooms in the main building if you'd like to sleep in. They let out directly into the breakfast area. The hotel also has a box of coupons for local wineries. During our stay they had 2 for 1 coupons for tastings and etc.
