Marriott's Newport Coast Villas

Our family of five is currently staying at the Marriott in Newport Beach. I booked our two bedroom villa a few months ago and if we stayed three nights the rate was $189. The property is huge- a little overwhelming at times and the front desk is not that helpful. We are in the building across from the main pool on the third floor. Lots of families with loud children. The walls are pretty thin so we can hear people upstairs and in the morning getting the elevator. Newport and Laguna are beautiful, but the only thing to do is go to the beach/shop or stay by the pool. Currently it is 65 degrees so swimming is not an option. We started our trip in San Francisco and drove the coast which is beautiful so it is fine that we are not doing much and relaxing, but we would be bored if we were here a week. The unit itself is older and I would be super disappointed if I paid more than $189. You need to take the car everywhere- nothing to walk to and their are fees attached to most of the Marriott activities. We would probably not stay here again.

Stayed here over spring break with several friends. (Adults and chldren). The grounds were meticulously maintained, the villa was beautifully decorated. There were ample activites provided on the property for all ages. We attended the family camp fire on Friday night and made 'smores. The staff assisting with the campfire were very friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed all the pools, the basketball court, tether ball and putting green. The property is close to numerous popular beaches, laguna, newport and huntington. We enoiyed venturing out to the local beaches in a short amount of time. the housekeeping staff did a great job and were very accomodating. My ONLY complaint was the constant 'sales' push. My husband was not traveling with me so we were not able to participate in the sales tour - yet I was constantly asked, given info.. even CALLED in my room about their time share opportunities...

We are Marriott timeshare owners and exchanged to this property -- it met all our expectations and then some. We were able to get our preferences - top floor in one of the new buildings and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The staff were very helpful every time we had a question or needed some help. Such a great location...Lots to do if you choose to do so. We loved just sitting on the balcony reading and looking at the gorgeous view; however, we did take a side trip to Balboa and rented a little Duffy boat and cruised around -- so much fun -- saw sea lions...

This is the second time I've stayed at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas. I flew down with a friend for a girls weekend of fun and shopping. Our villa had a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. For families with children, I would highly recommend as there is tons of things for kids to do and you have plenty of space. It's less than a 10 minute drive from the Orange County/Santa Ana/John Wayne Airport. I definitely will stay here again. Also, make sure you get a Grazie card - discounts for restaurants. We ate at Tommy Bahamas and it was great! You won't be disappointed.

This is one of the top Marriott properties in the US. The location is great- close to beachfront activities, seafood dining and shopping. The property is quiet with great views of the ocean. There are plenty of grills located near the buildings and they are spotless! Plenty of on-property activities if you are interested. We will be back soon

Loved this place. Perfect location, close to everything for family or adult activities. Very well kept grounds. Villas are clean. Only possible complaint was our villa didn't have a good view - whereas others on property have stunning views of the ocean. Definitely on the list of places to visit again in the future

My wife, two children, boys age 15 and 8 stayed for one week Feb 6th-13th. This is our second time here so we knew what to expect. We Made sure you ask for a newer unit since they are the ones that have Flat Screens TV's. The best thing is the location, Newport Coast is a very Classy Upper Class Local and this resort fits right in. We had a cold weather week but the Pools are heated. My Kids love Crystal Cove with the Tide Pools. Just make sure you park in the Los Trancos lot and walk through the tunnel this way you will be by the historic cottages. We did Disney and Knotts which is about 20 min's away. You def. will need to drive to places as the resort is huge, but there is a shuttle but we did not use. The only negative thing to say is that on Saturday we received a phone call at 8:30 AM, I answered but no one said on word on the other end. I believe it was housekeeping checking to see if we left yet becuase at 8:45 I opened the door to load the truck and housekeeping had her hear to our door checking for noise. I laughed about it but my wife got upset. One other thing is the SPA closed, my wife was really looking forward to a massgae. All in all we had a fantastic time and plan on visiting again. For Food, the best place we ate at was "Bandera", about two miles away on Coast Highway. The roasted spit fire chicken was the best we ever had.
