“Great lunch venue”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

Our 3rd visit and great food and service! We split the humus appetizer and gyro plate (big portion). Pita bread is good. Beef/lamb has a good flavor. Service was good. Great spot on the beach

“Tough nite for akropolis...”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We really wanted to like this place. Good to great reviews and within walking distance of where we were staying on the Balboa peninsula. Staff eagerly responded to a request for a reservation at 7:30 pm on a Saturday nite in late July, NICE JOB! Room is very inviting, seated immediately, reasonable menu, even with children in mind. (can not fault the chicken nuggets....). Things fell apart after that. Kitchen was incredibly slow.. Food took 45 min to show up and that was for some garlic bread and tzatziki. Food was either under or over seasoned and potatoes were sorely undercooked. Lamb was bland. Soup also tasteless. Best of the bunch was the beef souvlaki. STAFF CLEARLY FRUSTRATED WITH THE KITCHEN. They had no problem expressing their opinion to all within earshot. While I agreed with them, really put a damper on the experience. Staff finally frustrated to the point where they would not come out from behind the counter. Reasonably priced especially for Balboa area. Would I eat here again? Perhaps on a slow day I would give them another chance.

“Authentic and great Greek food”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

I am a food connoisseur. I am half Greek and half Italian. This was by far one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Quality of ingredients was high and food flavor was very well developed. I recommend this restaurant especially considering the pricing was very fair.

“Good casual dining”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Really good solid greek food. Better than I expected based on the "diner-like" atmosphere. It was sort of like a deli with a bunch of the requisite greek statues and olive leafs strewn around so it felt "greek." That aside the food was very good and plenty of it. Had the hummus plate as an appetizer. Then we had a gyro (plenty of food and cheap) along with a chicken skewer plate. Chicken was really moist and good. Very satisfying and tasty and super affordable.
