Owner description: Monarch Dunes is Woodland's tribute to the origins and tradition of golf. Surrounded by windswept dunes and eucalyptus trees, coastal vistas and amber-colored hillsides, Monarch Dunes Golf Club is reminiscent of the true links-style courses found in Scotland and a must play for those who seek a challenging, yet amiable, unspoiled golf adventure. Monarch Dunes: Links to the traditions of golf.

Both the Old Course and the Executive Course are amazing courses to play! Be sure to get their mobile app as the best deals are pushed to my cell phone usually a day or two before I can use them. It is one of the most scenic courses I have played.

The whole area is beautiful, and the 2 restaurants, in the club house and at the pro shop, which are open to the public, are very good. Lovely place!

I suggest that newbies play this course with someone who has played it previously as there are several blind shots and deceiving challenges. Bring extra balls for first experiences. Players will soon learn the tricks and after a few experiences improve dramatically.

My wife and I stopped here to get out of the car for a little golf on the way up the coast. She is a beginning golfer and 12 holes is about the length of her attention span. As a novice golfer, I found the course fun and worth the price but not really challenging. The regular course looked very nice and I look forward to playing it. Will come here again.

Played this course twice during our stay. Great variety of holes, loads of water hazards, the overall condition of the course was excellent. Some great views throughout. Tough opening hole and a very challenging finishing 4 holes. Highly recommended.
