“what happened to this place?”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

All the years we have been visiting the area, we never ate here until last year (when we had given up on the pointless breakfast supplied at the Narrow Gauge Inn). Husband had a hankering for pancakes this morning before we left to come home....so we drove past Denny's and returned here.

Looks the same. Hardly any body in the restaurant at all (guess Denny's is really cramping there style). What happened to all the women who worked there?

Anyway, the food was terrible. The hot water for hot tea was tepid to say the least (the lemons were fresh and it was an ok assortment of tea). The English Muffin was definitely not Thomas' English muffin and I think it was a few days old.....dry - had - and tasteless.

My husband said that he had never had "gritty" pancakes before and the sausages were very strange tasting. I looked at his scrambled eggs and they were very dry and kind of, well, brown...

“Good Food, Friendly Service”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

The place might need some updating and some adjustments in the menu, but if you want to have a nice comfortable neighborhood like comfort food when you are away from home, you can't go wrong with the very nice and friendly service at this restaurant.
The omelettes were very good, and the hash browns were also good, but I wish they used better oil to fry them. Good coffee and their fruit jams are excellent.
We'll go back again when in town.

“Nice little breakfast place”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

We had breakfast here on a Monday morning. The restaurant was clean but in need of a little updating. The booth seats had been repaired. The staff was very friendly. The manager came out and talked with us for a bit. Their service was prompt and we had our food in no time. We each had eggs, fruit or tomatoes, and biscuits and gravy. My father asked for grilled tomatoes and they honored this request without complaint. We all liked our food and the prices are fair for the area. My mom and I ordered hot tea and we were give baskets with selections of many varieties. The creamers were of the non-dairy type and I asked for milk instead which they cheerfully provided. We asked the manager some advice about tire repair and he gave us helpful information.

“Gone from bad to worse”
Reviewed 27 September 2013 via mobile

This was once the place to go in town. Tried it again. Now bad service, lousy food and a lack of cleanliness. Never never never eat here. Rumored to reuse leftovers too.
