This is one of the best vacation rentals my family has ever stayed in. This was our first trip to the San Francisco/Oakland area, and we would definitely rent here again.
The house was extremely clean, bright, full of fresh flowers, lots of little touches to make you comfortable. There are little things like spices in the kitchen, toiletries in the bathroom, and way too many other small things to mention, that make this a terrific vacation house.
Most places in the Bay area do not have air conditioning, but that wasn't a problem at this house. We stayed during two extraordinarily hot day, and it wasn't a problem. The house stays shaded for a good part of the day, there are tons of windows, and fans in the laundry closet. Then the temperature dropped down to normal by the end of our trip, so we tried the gas fireplace - worked great!
And then there's the garden. Tons of flowers, a vegetable garden, herb garden, fruit trees - hummingbirds. The owner, Keith, has a list of things that are ready to be harvested, which we thought was a really fun touch. After a rough day of city traffic, tourist crowds, and noise, this was a wonderful little oasis, where we could leave the stress behind and relax in the evening. The owner was very attentive but unobtrusive - if we had any questions, he was available. We had a great stay, and would definitely rent here again.
