Very nice place, the food was decent the pizza was a good decent portion. The guacamole was really awesome. The best part was the store that is connected to the restaurant.

“Great veggie food, though beware the Gaia drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Came here for lunch yesterday with family and had a lovely time. The place has a great atmosphere and is dog friendly. We sat outside in the sunshine and spoke to some of the friendly regulars.

I had the Goat Cheese and squash tacos which were very tasty. The beans, red rice and cultured salad it came with were also excellent.

You order from the till and the service, though a bit slow, was very friendly.

My only bugbear was the Gaia juice I ordered. Essentially a mix of celery and cucumber juice. It was horrible and tasted like water mixed with liberal amounts of cut grass. Do not order it for yourself, only for someone you don't like ;-)

All in all, this place is great - very attuned to the wonderfully alternative Ojai vibe.

“Just down the street”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2013

This is such a treat to have this place just a block from home. I can go down and have great veggie meals, buy fresh from the garden and be a part of what I love about Ojai.

“Great if you are a Vegetarian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2013

This place has a WONDERFUL salad bar. It's a bit pricey (more than Whole Foods), but the contributions are many and fresh. The homemade dressings are delcious--esp the Feta. The ambience is great--out in the woods in Miners Oaks, surrounded by trees. Reminds me of Santa Cruz in the late 70s--hippie, dippy, trippy:-) The weekday entrees are Mexican. I had the goat cheese soft tacos which were disappointing. A little too picante for my taste, and the vegetables had a vinegary flavor. A very little goat cheese, not warm, more would have added a better taste. If you love salads with lots of different things, such as cabbage, marinated squash, cecis, eggs, corn, etc. you must try this place. Also if you are a vegan, you will love it. During the week, they have no table service other than to deliver your meal. You order at the counter and pay ahead of time. You need to ask for ice and salt. But there are friendly people in the patio and I had a good time.

“Great vegetarian/organic joint”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2013

This place is a part grocery store and a part self-service restaurant / cafe.
Great selections of vegetarian/vegan food with locally grown organic produce.
I love everything I ate there. If you are vegetarian, this is an amazing choice. Also they do not season their hood heavily. I do not like using too much salt in my food and the way they seasoned was just perfect. I heard someone comlaining how bland the food was. It's understandable but if you are not eating healthy food or pursue healthy life style / eco-conscious, you would NOT like this place.
