While I agree with the "no frills" assessment, if you are "low maintenance" type of people (which we are), then you will be sufficiently happy with the Acacia Mansion. We stayed 2 nights in the Red Lotus Suite. The room & the entire mansion are just gorgeous! The complimentary massage for my husband & me was a big plus! We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Spring for the Red Lotus room - it's the "best" one.

Of the 10 B&B's in Ojai, I couldn't understand why Acacia Mansion had only 3 reviews and all the others had several hundred. Based on the 3 glowing reviews, I booked this on a Living Social discounted rate, which also included a massage for me and my husband, and beer or wine tasting at Ojai Beverage Co.

Acacia Mansion is a beautiful building, and a Ventura County Landmark, with beautiful stained glass windows, winding staircase and gorgeous wood floors. Kristina is a wonderful host, welcoming, and helpful with planning meals and activities.

The Mansion is located in an area of Ojai called Meiners Oaks, a somewhat 60's residential neighborhood and a 10 minute drive from downtown Ojai. There are a few places to eat within walking distance, but better food is available downtown.

The Mansion appears to be in need of some repair and upkeep. We stayed in the Lavender Suite, and it could have used a fresh coat of paint, the shower dripped, and the bed which was apparently a TempurPedic, was back-breakingly hard.

There are no locks on the room doors. The room wasn't cleaned or straightened up during our multi-night stay. Breakfasts were very modest -- a crepe with scrambled eggs one day, waffles with sausage the next. The fruit appeared to be partly fresh and partly defrosted frozen.

Bottom line, if you are looking for no frills, Acacia Mansion is a lovely place. If you are a frequent B&B traveler, there are lots of things missing here.

Amazing property, fun location, and welcoming host. We spent my husband's birthday at Acacia Mansion and had so much fun chatting with the owner and other guests, eating the delicious food, and exploring the beautiful grounds. We'd love to come back. Christina was such a passionate and friendly hostess, and she was full of information about the area. The property is amazing, complete with jacuzzi and saloon! The area also has some great little art galleries and restaurants plus a fun farmers' market where we loaded up on local olive oil, cheese, and goat milk soaps. Great weekend trip from Orange County.

This was such an elegant place to stay. There was so much to do. We were able to enjoy the entire Mansion and the grounds. There were amazing restaurants minutes away. We enjoyed the lavish manor, and jacuzzi. The sauna was just so cozy for the two of us to enjoy. The place is like a story book. We even discovered a “Secret Room”. We will go back again and again. If you want to hit a home run with your lover, Acacia Mansion is the place.

Had a marvelous 3 days in Ojai, stayed at this fabulous remodeled Acacia Mansion in the spring when all the orange trees in the Ojai valley were in bloom with their beautiful scent. It has three beautiful rooms to stay in with a delicious breakfast every morning. The Ranch House Restaurant is just a stroll down the street, a nature preserve to view wildlife and birds practically across the street. Our stay included a message or horseback ride, we did the ride and it was a lovely area in another preserve in Meiners Oaks. Enjoyed downtown Ojai with all the cute boutique shops and Art galleries. Another plus is the Fresh Fish Restaurant in Ojai that just underwent a huge remodel, very popular and very good.

Room Tip: One with fireplace.
