My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for a little getaway and birthday celebration. Everything from the grounds to the pools to the rooms are as described online. As a couple with no children (Although we do like kids!) we appreciated the separate pool especially accommodated for families with children. It included many swim toys, a snack/candy shop and the freedom for the kids to splash around and have fun but not at the expense of those who are looking for a quieter pool to relax in/around. The herb garden pool was right outside our room and we enjoyed the serenity and pleasant pool service provided by hotel staff. Each pool area provides towels, sunscreen, magazines/newspapers and fresh water infused with slices of varying types of fruit.
We did not participate in any of the spa services but did enjoy the workout room and the spa facilities (separate male and female areas with saunas, whirlpools, showers, changing area with locker rooms). The workout room was one of the better fitness centers I've used in any hotel. It pretty much had everything you might need for both cardio and weight training. Only complaint is to have to pay $20 to use the spa facilities if you do not book any services; this seems a bit petty considering the hotel class and what a guest pays for a room.
We didn't eat or drink at any of the hotel's restaurants as we preferred to explore outside the hotel.
Overall, I great getaway for both families and couples!

We came here for a few nights as a getaway from our jobs and 3 kids and hectic lives, and we needed it to be perfect. Well, ... it was. Our room was huge and comfortable and quiet. At the herb garden pool we were pampered like billionaires. The spa was gorgeous and the services I got were all totally first rate. The food was great. The tennis courts were always available. Even the weather cooperated. We can't wait to go back. We couldn't remotely afford this type of luxury under normal circumstances, but I found a great deal. We went mid-week to get the best rates, and then we booked through WhatAHotel online, and got rates way lower than I saw anywhere else. Ended up paying $325 a night and that included 2 breakfasts! AND a $50 resort credit each night!!! An amazing deal. I still can't believe how luxurious it was given what we paid. We might've just been really lucky, but I'll take it!!

We came here from Santa Monica looking for some peace and quiet. I booked the room through Hotels.com and got a better last minute rate than the hotel was offering. Check in was a bit bumpy, since it was check out time and only one receptionist was at the desk, but that was promptly remedied. Although it was only noon and check in is at four, we were allowed to check in and even given an upgrade. Parking is very convenient. The room was in the main building on the third floor, with a lovely view of the mountains, and it was huge. I particularly liked the area outside of the bathroom where there was a vanity and chair, as well as a sink. We had a king bed and a very comfortable love seat, as well as a desk and a balcony. There was a coffee maker as well. We were very close to the family pool as well as the restaurants and the golf club.
Everything was spotless, and it was definitely quiet. This is definitely not Las Vegas, nor the type of luxury you would find in a traditional five star hotel, but rather understated and quaint, more like a prosperous hacienda. Accommodations are spread out and some may be far from some facilities, but then again, they may be close to the Spa and the adults only pool.
The grounds are beautiful without being ostentatious; there is a feeling of being close to nature, which I believe is what the place really strives for and accomplishes.
The only problems we encountered was a snafu regarding the location of my husband's golf clubs, which were eventually found, and the fact that we could not get reliable information regarding the food service at the pools. And it was hot. They tell us the weather is much more pleasant in the fall or winter, but then it would be more crowded, so you can't have everything.
The restaurant Maravilla was pretty much what the name promised; the food and the service were terrific, and the table on the terrace overlooking the mountains was a real treat. There are very few restaurants in L.A. or anywhere where else can you hear the crickets at night. Breakfast is served overlooking the golf course and I strongly recommend the pick your own ingredients omelette.
Service was friendly and courteous throughout.
We did not visit the Spa but our children have and they tell us it is exceptional.
A very short ride away is the town of Ojai, where we had lunch at a restaurant the hotel recommended, and the food was very good. Ojai is basically a one and half street town, but there are many neat little stores, enough to keep one shopping around for a few hours.
If what you are looking for is to relax , smell the lavender and hear crickets chirping at night and not a multi entertainment complex you will love it here.

Room Tip: Higher floors will give you a better view

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly helpful from booking through to leaving. I booked directly through the hotel as part of an anniversary trip and they had a little surprise in the room for us, which was lovely. The staff are incredibly friendly and the hotel itself is probably in one of the nicest settings I've ever stayed in. It is definitely worth paying for a room with a view.
I actually can't say enough nice things about this place - the adults pool was great, the staff were lovely and the food (we only had breakfast) was delicious. However, it is expensive but definitely worth the money.

We went to Ojai Valley Inn & Spa for a girls weekend. It was just what we all needed. From check in to checkout-everyone was super friendly and accomodating. The grounds are very well manicured. We had a room overlooking the golf course and the mountains. It was gorgeous. We took advantage of the swimming pools, gym, resort shop, and restaurants. For it to be a top rated resort-we were not impressed by the selection of food, or the quality of food. It was difficult to get breakfast to go-croissants, coffee, juice, yogurt we pretty much are only options for soemthing to go. We had dinner at the pub-pretty standard pub food...The spa was was wonderful. They have co-ed pools, and ladies only lounges-jacuzzi, steam room, sauna. I had a massage treatment-heavenly! The gym had state of the art machines, very clean and tidy.

The rooms were clean and are very MexiCali chic...there were 3 of us-and were spacious enough for us.

If you stay here, be sure you have a car...you can walk to the town-but the car allowed us to try many places in neighboring towns. Ojai itself is very charming. They have a beautiful trail, cute little shops on the main street (including a great breakfast diner-Bonnie Lou's.)
