We booked both a trailer home and a motel room before going to Death Valley the next day. Coming in late, we were shown around by the galant owner. The trailer next to the pool area was rather old but still inhabitable. We could not use the kitchen because there were only two tiny pans, obviously relicts from the gold diggers era. I guess some of the other trailers are better equipped.

The little cabin room was actually very nice, some non-professional tried his very best to renovate the private bathroom down the hallway (also private). It was OK. The park is still under construction, one door in the hallway will lead to the restaurant later this year. I don't know if this will improve the experience for people staying in the room, but for now, we were satisfied. We did hear some peculiar rhytmic thumping sounds from the other room under the same roof, though.

We stayed 2 nights in january 2013. The room was nice and clean, however the bathroom was not totally finished and freezing cold. The frontgarden looked nice, but at the back there was a lot of construction rubbish. I felt a bit sorry for the 4 horses that were held in a very small paddock and were looking bored and in my eyes not happy.

The owner told us they were still developing the place and also making a bigger place for the horses. I hope so.

Thank you very much for giving us our first review. We're very new in the motel part of the park and apologize for the construction in the back and I wanted to assure you that the horses have 2 areas to hang out in a large area approximately 40x75 and 40x50 with a 20 by 60 path in between to run through, almost 200 feet in length. Some of them were rescues and they have gotten quit plump. We feed them 3 times a day. I'm an animal lover myself and would never mistreat the horses. The small area 40x50 was very temporary.
Thank you again for caring and commenting (:
Next time you visit the Wagon Wheel Restaurant should be open.
Kind regards,
