My wife and I spent a delightful two nights at the Bear Valley Inn. We used the Inn as a base of operations for exploring all that there is to see/do. First of all, Olema is perfectly situated. From there, you can bicycle, explore the Point reyes seashore on foot, visit wineries, eat fantastic food or just veg out. (we did all of the above)
Amanda and Ken who run the Bear know the area intimately and are wonderful hosts. the Inn itself is charming, without being cloying. Both Amanda and Ken are avid bicyclists and hikers and can suggest routes and trails.
Accomodations are excellent. . The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and the inn is a beautiful early 20th century structure. The restoration job is first-rate.
I suggest walking to dinner at the Olema Inn for some of the finest and best-prepared food you could want.
