“Loved it all.”

Nestled in Squaw Valley is this spectacular hotel. This was our family's second summer visit .The view always takes my breath away, the mountain air smells so fresh, the grounds are so pretty, the heated pool so relaxing, all in this wonderful setting overlooking the ski area. Our daughter has special needs, and she felt welcomed and so happy here. We didn't try the fancy restaurants, chose to eat casually and room service dining. The spa massages were some of the best we have ever had. The golf course was challenging but so unique, some holes along the mountain range and some in the meadow. We will be back next year!

The resort is quite stunning. While the resort isn't on the lake like so many other places its view up Squaw Valley is every bit as spectacular. It is built up against the forested valley wall, overlooking the ski runs, golf course, wetlands, etc. This is a large hotel with a huge, inviting lobby with a giant stone fireplace with overstuffed chairs, board games ect. There are a couple of good restaurants, golf, some shops, a full spa, and a large outdoor pool and two hot tubs. You have two options for parking: self-park and valet. Self-park is quite a walk from the main buildings and includes a long stairway climb from the parking lot to the lodge. The guest rooms are in a separate building from the main lodge. You walk through a concourse of shops and casual eateries to get to the glass tower of suites. We stayed in a one bedroom "Valley View" Fireplace suite. The suite had a sitting room area with a queen size sofa/sleeper and a large bedroom with a king sized bed. Both rooms had there own TV's, phones etc. It was really nice. The suite came with a dishwasher, fridge, and fireplace, and faced the mountains. They were spacious, and had nice full bathrooms and bath robes for taking to the pool during the cool nights. The bathroom was large and clean. The walls were a little thin and background noise from other guests could potentially be a problem. We had great service at the Resort really don't have a bad thing to say about it.

I had a superior pedicure with "Sunshine" at the Resort at Squaw Creek. This spa has been remodeled and is so relaxing and elegant. This was a fine treat.

This hotel is nice and is in a good location. The hotel is truely ski in ski out as there is a lift in the back of the hotel. My biggest complaint is that it's not worth the price. I paid approx. $300/night + $16/day resort fee (mandatory for coffee and newspaper service) + $25/day valet parking. The self park lot was really far from the hotel and so during winter season, self park is not really an option. The rooms look fine, furnished with nice furniture, but no real Wows. My other biggest compliant is the sound insulation of the room. I stayed in a Delux room, which had a door to a joining room. There were young kids in the room next to ours and we could hear EVERYTHING, even to the sound of the spoon hitting the cereal bowl. The kids woke up at 6am in the morning and let's just say sleep was no longer possible. The staff seem confused and more focused on getting tipped than really wanting us to enjoy our stay and returning. We drove our beat up Jeep to the resort and we definitely noticed a difference of service. Make sure you drive your nice car if you want attention.

Went to Resort at Squaw Creek for a Memorial Day Weekend Wedding. We got the group rate for the hotel, but they messed up our reservation and we had to spend a fair amount of check in time trying to get our rooms. No apologies from staff.

Rooms are very nice, comfortable beds. We got a nice view of the golf course. Had a problem with phones, they quickly replace our phone. The hotel is in a very beautiful setting, occupying a space next to the Squaw Valley Ski Resort. The mountains and forests lend themselves to photo opportunities almost around every corner. The lobby has large windows and a two story ceiling with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace with a roaring wood burning fire.

Used the small fitness center, it was not crowded. Had a chance to dip the feet in the pool--it was refreshing, but a little crowded--lots of kids. There is also a golf course, spa, tennis courts and bikes available for rent--didn't have a chance to try this. They had a concierge that was available to book other activities.

Food service at the wedding was OK--all food was warm, but not particularly inspired. Food service in the hotel were kind of messed up. Over the Memorial Day Weekend, there were only two restaurants open. At breakfast, they messed up our reservation and there was a bottleneck into the only sit down restaurant open for breakfast. Ended up having our family breakfast at the deli next the small arcade of shops. There are no other restaurants around the area, you would have to drive atleast 20 minutes to get to a nearby place to eat.

If I was there for skiing, it would be a great place. I would probably have a good time here, if it was a weekday during the summer, but Memorial Day Weekend was a little crazy. I was kind of disappointed with the staff and their food services.

We were there for our anniversary, booked at the very last second, got a great rate. We were trying to save $ so we even brought our own wine to the restaurant overlooking the pool with waterslide - no problem. We were upgraded to a corner suite with a fireplace and it was an amazing stay. Just a 15 minute drive to Tahoe City with plenty to see and do. We took a "hike" after breakfast to the lodge next door which was a pleasant half hour, just enough to come back and get a massage, relax by the pool. It was very warm, relaxing beautiful place to stay. We only ate in the restaurant once, for lunch, it was just ok, but rather expensive. The other restaurant was closed for the season. We would definitely go back if we could get a good deal.

I stayed here on a Hotwire win during March 2009 for some late season skiing trip with the family. The location and the service is very good, especially the ski valet. We liked the heated pool, although it was packed with families (no room in the hot tub).

The room was a bit on a smaller size, but the two beds were comfortable. The room had a small dorm size fridge, which was great for saving money on refreshments. There is a little deli that sells breakfast cereals and coffee, which was a great alternative to the pricey restaurants.

A huge negative is that this is primarily a vacation condo style resort, and our hotel room was a lock-off unit. As a result, the walls to the 1-bedroom unit was paper thin, and we are able to hear every conversation held in the next door.
