“Just right for our needs”
Reviewed 15 August 2009

The condo was just the right size for my 2 teenage boys and I. The location was great and there is a lot to do in the village.
The lodge has covered parking, a ping pong table, free internet, tennis courts and a nice pool. Great for my teenage boys. Less than 1 block to walk to the Village at Squaw Valley that has many stores, restaurants, mini-putt-putt and jumpie. The cable car ride to the top of the mountain that has a pool and ice rink is very close. We rented bikes in the village and rode the bike trails.
The room was great- nice kitchen with a dishwasher, breakfast bar, dining room table, living room, bedroom and good-sized bathroom. The room was very clean and well kept. The lobby and walkways were well lit and I felt safe walking around late at night. I would go back- the staff was very friendly and kind and responsive.

We booked the loft unit and it was plenty of room for the 4 of us. Even though the "master" does not have a wall around it that was not a problem. The kids were upstairs most of the time whenever we were in the room (at night to sleep and get ready). The loft area upstairs was very spacious. There was literally enough room for 2 seperate bedrooms up there if they wanted to put up walls. One alcove of the loft had a sofa sleeper so one child claimed that area as hers and the other got the queen bed on the other side of the loft. 2 walk-in closets and a full bath upstairs was GREAT. We were traveling w/ another family and one of their kids even spent the night w/ ours. PLENTY of room. It was a kitchenette w/ a full size fridge which was great. I don't cook a full meal on vacation anyway. Just need a fridge for water and other drinks.

The location was GREAT. The other family we were with stayed at The Village. The only difference is the restaurants and shops were right below them and we had to walk a few yards. However, we coud literally ski right up to the door to come into our building and they could not. LOVED IT! Very close to the lifts and cable car and an easy walk over to the ski school. If you wanted to drive (I did one day because it was actually raining) it wasn't bad at all. Very quiet and the entire group even said the workout facility and pools at Squaw Valley Lodge were much better than The Village. Oh, and our friends had to contend w/ a lot of noise coming from the village area when they did breakfasts outside and music and all. Our place was quiet and peaceful.

Free wifi and free coffee in the mornings in the lobby. Would stay here again.

Even though there was plenty of storage in our unit for ski's and snowboards it would have been great to have a place closer to the door into & out of the building for them. Then no one would need to carry them thru the building and on the elevators.

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for 2 nights in conjunction with the Western States 100. We had a studio unit, and it was much more spacious than I expected -- plenty of room for the two of us to spread out and be comfortable. We appreciated the excellent in-room coffee (there's also free coffee in the lobby) and the free internet in the community room. Our bed was super comfy, the staff was friendly and helpful, and we could not have been in a more convenient location for the start of the race. This is the perfect place to stay if you're running/pacing/crewing at Western States.

This place was awesome!! The units are individually owned, and they are very nice. The boys had a great time, the slopes are right out the door, literally. I would highly reccomend this to skiers and snow boarders. My hubby and I drove around the lake, gorgeous, A MUST SEE!!

Very convenient location, spacious, excellent maid service, but if you're like me and don't like the sound of non-stop footsteps above you, or the sound of loud conversations from adjoing rooms, then either insist on a top floor or stay somewhere else. The walls and ceiling have as much sound insulation as paper does. My wife, on the other hand, barely noticed it - so it really depends on the person. As I wrote, everything else was excellent.

There were a total of 4 adults traveling together staying in a 2 bedroom condo at Squaw Valley Lodge for 4 nights and skiing/boarding for 2 days at Squaw. We made our reservations through Squaw Valley Central Reservations.

This is a full featured resort with Spa, Tennis Courts (only open in the summer), workout facility, pool (summer only), and plenty of hot tubs (both indoor and outdoor), underground covered parking, etc. The entire complex was very clean and had all the creature comforts of home. Our 2 bedroom condo was very spacious with full kitchen and washer and dryer (nothing like having clean ski gear mid week!). There was plenty of room for gear storage while still maintaining plenty of room to relax at the end of the day on the couch and chairs. Room was very clean and well kept. Hot tub areas were nice and clean and a great way to end the ski day. We had perfect spring ski weather on our trip so the outdoor hot tub was the place to be.

You can't get any closer to the Squaw Valley cable car tram than this property, it is literally right out the front door. If you don't want to wait on the tram it is a quick and easy walk over to the funitel gondola. At the end of the day you can ski back to the condo. Condo complex is located right next to the Squaw Valley base area of shops, restaurants, etc. The restaurants in the base area are a little pricey but we never had a bad meal.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Squaw Valley. We will definitely stay here again on a future trip to Squaw.

This place was way over priced even for slopeside accomodations. The room was very small for a condo facility, got stuck with the studio, no fireplace, and there was no privacy at all. The hallway constantly smelled of other people's cooking odors, and we heard the clomping of the elephants staying in the room above us until all hours of the night. About the only convenience was the location near the lifts. We found many of the businesses had closed up, probably due to the economy, and the little grocery store was way expensive to shop at, so be sure to bring ALL of your own food. Or be prepared to pay out the nose for eating out. Heading for Mammoth Mtn CA next week 3/25, will pay 1/2 the price for rooms twice the size, slopeside too! SVL, was a ripoff!
