Excellent 7 course meal. Everything perfect from the appetizers to the main course to the desert. The meal is prix fixe. Perfect for any special occasion. Truly a dining experience since we were there for almost 4 hours.

I first dined here about 1983 or 1984, when the late Jerry Mead, a wine columnist, recommended the restaurant. I thought it was top rated then and I still think so.
What I fail to understand AAA's 3 Diamond rating. Admittedly the Hobbit is following a formula different from most others, but in my opinion AAA is doing diners who want the best a disservice with only 3 Diamond s. We live in Las Vegas and know the pleasure of celebrity chefs and outstanding restaurants and The Hobbit is up there with the best!

We go to the Hobbitt on special occasions, as it is not cheap, but it really is a dining event! Don't miss the appetizers and wine cellar before the meal. On our last trip we took our two teens with us and they enjoyed it very much! We will always return because the food is excellent and the service is incredible. The meal is so expansive that there is an intermission. We bought a case of their champagne to extend the experience at home. I have looked for places like the Hobbitt in our area but no one does it as well as they do!

So glad you enjoyed your evening with us. Our 7 course meal extends over 3 hours, just like at a friends house. A time to relax and celebrate any special occasion.

I brought the missus here for post-Valentine's dinner and sad to say the place is over rated. We were greeted and asked to wait in a little corner on the second floor, ordered cocktails and whisky which was more than I've paid at other fine dining areas. From there, we were escorted to the wine cellar, certainly a large selection of wines where the waiters are pitching and selling to you to enjoy at your dinner table. Meanwhile, they serve light snacks and complimentary champagne. About 20 minutes of mingling with anti-social patrons, we were escorted back to the second floor or the dining area, large open hall with just a few tables. We were seated in our designated tables and promptly greeted by our waiter. Sure enough, beside the set fee ($80/person), any additional drinks, appetizer or desert were extras. Soon I saw my bill going up, which is not how as advertised. Food was ok, nothing that blows my mind. The several course meal lasted for about 3 hours...can't remember what steak I ordered, something like beef wellington. Every day their menu changes. My wife didn't like it either, except the desert. Ambiance is ok, but nothing special. It had an old European feel to it, something very old compared to European restaurants. Its not some place I would visit again.

I went to a 7 course dinner at the wine cellar and I was impressed with the wine selection they've had. all the 7 courses were excellent. the service was the best. The chef went personally to greet us, we had a tour to the restaurant and part of the kitchen.
I really enjoyed everything, Highly recommended.
