Special needs animals are well cared for here. Pay for a guide. Very informative. Watching the animals beIng fed in the early morning is quite a treat. Don't miss it.

“Go when it's cool”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2013

These are retired and/or special needs animals that have been given a second chance, clean quarters, and loving care. The cages are a bit small, but the animals appear content. There isn't much shade and it's very hot there in the summer. Best time to visit: spring and fall.

“Very Neat Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2013

This is a great place to visit if you are in the area, The animals are very well taken care of and so many to look at, We saw ligers, bears, coyotes, owls, deer, lions, tortises, different cat speices and many other cute little critters! Some of the animals have even been on tv shows, they all have a story on their cage of how they came to be there.

Very clean, and staff is very nice, Wear your comfy walking shoes!

“Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013

They take great care of their animals, their web site is not up to date so don't go by that but if you are in the area and get a chance to go by the Barry Kirshner Wildlife Foundation it is absolutely worth the money. You get a great up close look at some very rare animals. These are not animals that could be released into the wild, all of them have health issues that are being cared for by a vet and the staff at the center and they are well maintained and monitored. If you live in the area and have time or money you can donate they always need help. It's a great cause. My personal favorite are the Russian Brown Bears but it's tough to choose they have some incredible animals.

“Doing wonderful work”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2013

The wildlife sanctuary offers the public the opportunity to see animals up close that they would never get the chance to see elsewhere. It is obvious that these animals are well cared for both physically and emotionally. The sanctuary is a labor of love by the staff and volunteers alike. Kirshner takes animals that would otherwise likely be disposed of and gives them the best possible life. It is an organization worth supporting!
