“Nice Valentine's Day Dinner”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

We went to La Dolce Vita for Valentine's Day. I'm a bit reluctant to review based on the dinner as it was a limited menu, of which virtually none of the dishes is on their regular menu. LDV is a charming restaurant in a restored old house in the Heritage Square section of Oxnard-an oasis in the downtown area.

The service was fine, although the meals are brought out by servers other than our waitress and they had no idea of who ordered which dishes-kind of a no-no in an upscale restaurant. I had the short ribs and my wife had the stuffed rigatoni as our entrees and we were both very satisfied with the food. The house is cute, but the furnishings and decor are underwhelming-maybe contributing to the very fair price of the meal. The owner and her sister were both very nice to talk to and extremely attentive. We will be going back to sample the regular menu soon.

“Good Food, Kind People, & Nice Setting”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

We were stumbling around the day after Christmas when my father in law led us here. I don't know much about Oxnard, but it did seem as though restaurant choices were slim in the downtown. That made this restaurant seem even more incredible and unique. The service from start to finish was what I would best term as really kind. This carried over into the portions, the menu choices (we are vegetarian and there were plenty of great choices), and for us Bay Area restaurant victims-the prices. All of us really enjoyed our very different meals, the polite and helpful service and of course, the beautiful building.

“Unique setting”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

La Dolce Vita is housed in an old Victorian house in Heritage Square. I had lunch there with a group of about 15 ladies. Everyone was pleased with their food. One table of seven had eaten, receive their checks before the other table had been served. We were seated in the "living room: on main floor. It does get noisy. I would return. I have also ben to a larger group ( 30+ people( in an upstairs room. The tables are jammed together. Yes, I would return.

“Wedding reception and several dinners”
Reviewed 23 November 2013 via mobile

Excellent place to have a fine dinner, food is very good and the staff well qualified.
The owner, Michelle, is a great chef and an excellent manager... Let's say a good friend now.
A must try is the "linguine alla bolognese" and that is said by a true Italian!!
Can't wait to go back to La Dolce Vita.
I suggest also the lounge, underneath the restaurant, for drinks and karaoke!!

“Good food and good service”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

We were on holiday and needed a restaurant where we could meet up with friends.

There was no problem reserving a tabe for eight of us and even though we were slightly late our table was waiting for us.

The steaks and pasta were very good , the service was attentive and courteous.
