“Wonderful suite in a quiet location”
Reviewed 7 January 2011

I stayed in a suite at this hotel that was very spacious and comfortable. I was on a business trip but brought my wife along. Because it was a two story room with a separate bathroom upstairs, I was able to get ready for my business meeting without disturbing her sleep. The hotel is in a very quiet location (next to a golf course) and provided a great breakfast spread with a large variety. I would stay here again.

We stayed for three nights at the Residence Inn. Since we traveled with little kids, we took the penthouse suite and it was great. Kids slept in one bedroom and we had a second Queenbed upstairs in a room which was open to the livingroom. The only problem were the stairs, since they were pretty steep and kind of dangerous for little kids, so we blocked them with a suitcase. The suite was very nice and spacious and the kitchen well equipped. There were 2 pool areas and our house was directly near one, which was nice. There is no restaurant / roomservice in the hotel but we were provided with a list of places in town and there was a small shop in the lobby, where you could buy some meals for the kitchen in the apartment. Breakfast was good with fresh waffles, fruit and pastry. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

So we ventured on our road trip from the Ozzfest in Rancho Cucamonga to see my Dallas Cowboys in Oxnard (ok my honey wasn't exactly thrilled) and we checked in to a room with a full kitchen, living room and King sized bed. As an online student who had to do homework while on vacation, I appreciated having internet free of charge! We were a short walk from where the Cowboys practice, and seeing them was awesome, plus you can see them roaming through the lobby here and there. The staff was really helpful and kind, and the home like units made me wish I couyld stay longer. Free Breakfast was an extra bonus!

No complaints with the Marriot. Nice big rooms and breakfast. Oxnard in general was average with not to much to see but great for passing through.

We stayed at the Hotel for a weekend because we had to visit a close relative in hospital in the area, otherwise this is NOT a location to relax for a vacation at all. There is no scenery at all, the rooms are dark, the hotel is extremely old and aged. If you are into pristene resorts go elsewhere. This is just a high end motel. It met our needs for the weekend.
Check In: was perfect, very polite staff, very receptive to our needs
Room Service: wonderful and friendly
Rooms: old but neat and as clean as it can be given the hotel's age; very large rooms
Kitchen: fully equipped with everyhting you need including pots, pan, dishes, silverware, towels, glassware, paper towels, soap etc.... Microwave, fridge, freezer............. Breakfast table with 2 chairs - Oh and free microwave popcorn!
Living Rooms: had flat panel TV, (NO DVD - so bring your own portable for your little ones:)); there was a desk, free internet access and 2 couches
Bed: very comfortable
Bathroom: very old, very small, motel style, but clean
Closets: Many closets - 2 walk ins near the bathroom, chest of drawers under the TV and on both sides of the bed, coat closet near front door - LOTS of storage room!
Pool: 2 pools - not great at all. They are small, old and usable but again not a place to lounge for a vacation. There are kids jumping in and making noise at all hours. They ran out of towels on both days that we were there, and after multiple calls for towels and promises that they would be right there, they still did not bring any towels. We gave up and found a room service caddy and just took some towels!
Parking: Free all around the separate buildings that contain the rooms
Breakfast: HORRIBLE crowded experience filled with people who seem to have never seen Free food in their lives before. They just piled up the food on their plates and stuffed themselves. This gives you an idea of the kind of crowd that visits this hotel! There were people who had 4 donuts on their plates mixed with eggs, jelly etc..... When we finally got to the end of the 20 minute long line, there were no pastries left! They had to open up a banquet room so I could just have a seat with my son for 10 minutes to eat a bagel along with others.
Bottom Line: Depends on what your purpose is - I have hardly written any bad reviews on TripAdvisor - but I do not think I would stay at this place again unless I had no alternative and had to be in the area again. There are not many choices in this area.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Santa Barbara wine country. We got into LA late so just wanted to get out of the city during the night so as to avoid traffic in the morning. The rooms were clean and very large. I really have no complaints. It was a perfect stop over. The breakfast was much larger than your typical continental so if you are with children then they will have plenty to eat. The fitness center was typical (bike, elliptical, treadmill and weight machine).

We stayed at this Residence Inn specifically to do day trips south to LA and north along the coast. The location could not have been more perfect. It is probably the largest RI we have ever stayed at but we never felt crowded at breakfast or during the evening receptions, both of which were very nice. The waitstaff in the dining room was great and the front desk personnel went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay.
