The Monterey Peninsula has many cities with their own distinct atmosphere. People visit Monterey for the history, Pebble Beach for it's golf, and Carmel-by-the-Sea for Clint Eastwood. Many people skip Pacific Grove, don't be one of them. PG has many fine restaurants, shopping and beautiful views of the bay. Monday they have a Farmers Market, and if you are here during strawberry season, lucky you. Not the best place in PG to see sea otters, but you can see plenty if you walk down the coastal trail that goes through Lover's Point. No matter what time of year it is, and no matter how nice the weather seems, always keep a jacket within arm's length. The weather here is quite fickle.
