“What a Lovely Place for a Birthday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2012 via mobile

We were thrilled with our 2 night stay at the Seven Gables, our second visit in as many years. We stayed in the Ocean Mist room and were so pleased with the big picture window overlooking Monterey Bay and the pair of comfy chairs we could sit in and admire the view. The bed was comfortable, sheets especially soft, 6 pillows, both down and fiberfill to choose from. We had ordered flowers and champagne and they were waiting for us when we arrived. The included breakfast overlooking the Bay was very special, everything one could want to eat! This is a wonderful inn that we'd recommend to everyone!

This is a very exceptional bed and breakfast. The staff was exceptional. They have a great wine and appetizers each afternoon in their main rooms of the hotel which are furnished with gorgeous antiques. The wines were delicious and the appetizers fresh and appealing. The hotel offers Milk and cookies each evening. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The room was spotless and the amenities are spectacular. Our room had a view of Monterey Bay and during our stay a pod of dolphin's came into the bay right in front of the hotel and were flipping and playing in the water. We walked along the shore close to the acquarium there were sea otters swimming and frolicking. It is close to all of the Monterey attractions on top of being one of the best bed and breakfast that I have ever stayed in.

The grounds of the property are manicured and a pleasure to walk. This is a great place to stay and my wife and I plan to return again.

Room Tip: All the rooms at the facility were gorgeous! Trip advisor forces you to fill out Fitness Center an...

My girlfriend and I had a brief stay at The Seven Gables Inn back in 2008 and fell in love with this B&B. When we became engaged to be married a couple of years later, we decided to plan our wedding at Lover's Point across the street from the Inn, and of course, stay there. J.R. (the Operations Manager) was absolutely FANTASTIC helping us plan our wedding over the course of several months which wasn't that easy since we were traveling from Florida.

The Inn was better than we remembered. We stayed for a week in Jewell Cottage which was perfect since our children could stay with us. J.R. and the whole staff treated us like royalty as they do all their guests. We travel frequently and without a doubt, this establishment is by far the finest of it's kind. The attention to detail throughout the Inn is simply amazing...clean beyond imagination, the most comfortable beds you've ever slept in, great breakfast, wine and cheese in the afternoon, cookies and milk in the evening, super staff, unbelievable location with the most beautiful views.

What can we say...our wedding was a dream...and it happened in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. If you're traveling to this area, you would be making a huge mistake staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: All the rooms have terrific views...if you have questions, please contact the Inn. The photos on th...

This was a lovely place to stay for a 20 year anniversary in 2010. We stayed 6 days total and have memories to last a lifetime. Loved the special breakfasts, wine & cheese afternoons and evenings in our room looking out over the bay, the fog & fishing ships. Loved waking up to barking seals and floating otters. Our room didnt have much space for extra packages although the private room entrance was handy. Parking is limited and street parking is necessary. Loved the customer service and no TV in the rooms. I bought the Seven Gables Inn Cookbook to remind me of a this special place.

The photos on their website are real. Romantic and un obstructed view with a spectacular view of the Monterey Bay from the room. What a way to awaken with a view of the ocean, followed by a full breakfast in the morning. Plus complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon, served in a French antique lounge setting.

This luxury B&B is short drive to downtown Pacific Grove, scenic Big Sur and Carmel. Not to mention the walking & biking trail right out the hotel front door, along the Monterey Bay Coastal trail. I am looking forward to my next stay.

This B&B was beyond beautiful. First class rooms, large sitting area and a romm right on water. It felt like we were sitting over the water. We had The Breakers Room, and I was more than pleased. All the staff was extremely helpful (especially Arthur and Donna).
The breakfast was GREAT!!! Eggs, breakfast meats etc. Not just your typical Rolls and cereal like some other places.
This is the pace to stay in Monterey area IMHO.

Room Tip: The Breakers is the best room in my opinion.

We had a really wonderful stay at this inn. Just two quirks in service could have been improved.

A staffer came for turn-down service at 6:30pm, which is way too early. We were napping, and when we said that we didn't need turn-down service, we were "reminded" in a loud voice that we should have put our "do not disturb" hanger out. Hmm....shouldn't turn-down service be a good thing for the visitor, and not an opportunity for a reprimand?

Second, there is no coffee service in the main house until 9am. I had to walk a long way from our 3rd floor room to another building to get coffee in the morning. Not convenient, and again, not in the best interest of the paying customer.

Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay in a perfect location.

Room Tip: Loved the Gable room.
