“Beautiful location and very friendly staff”

My husband and son enjoyed a round of golf and we decided to try Point Pinot for dinner. We were surprised that a golf course would have such a nice restaurant. Good menu, we all enjoyed our dinner- our waitress was excellent and the view is great- looking over the golf course out to the pacific.

“Quiet Little Jewel in Pacific Grove”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

A Restaurant.com gift certificate 'deal' motivated us to venture there for dinner instead of the usual, Cannery Row or Wharf draws. What a treat!
Environment:
Really low key place that could hit a 5 with some minor improvements.
It took a few minutes to be greeted and the sun was glaring through the window facing our table. Although the hostess aimed to seat us at the closest window seat, after rearranging our seats without success, we asked to move to a table further back. That was better. We could still see the ocean (a distant view regardless, but nice - you don't forget where you are!). Background music was playing that was relaxing and there's a rock wall with a fireplace (Summer, so not lit). The noise from the kitchen won over the background music at times. So - you can see where the improvements can be made.

Service - very good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly.

Food - this is where they should get a 6 or 10! The scallops were the BEST I've ever had anywhere!!! Big, full of flavor, seared on one side and succulent. They don't come with a side dish and we were full - 4 LARGE scallops, but some people may want vegetables or starch. They served a delicious little biscuit before the entree.

Drinks - They serve mixed drinks made with sake - like wine cocktails with unique recipes - the one BF ordered was really good. My chardonnay was fine. Noticed they have patio seating but that couple got too cold out there and they have an ordinance that they can't serve alcohol out there after 7pm - sounds odd?

Yes - we would go back - the other reviews make breakfast sound wonderful and from our experience we would bet on it. We just weren't there long enough this time. Will try that next trip. Nice and quiet with great food - go!

We ate breakfast there four day in a row. The food was very, very good and the service was even better. The prices could not be bet. The dinner we had was excellent. We will make this a most stop when we are Pacific Grove.

“brunch on a Sunday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2013

five friend met for Brunch on Sunday....all loved the food, thought the service was slow and disorganized, loved the food!, and the view. We had a rare wonderfully sunny morning in Pacific Grove, and a walk after Brunch along the shore with the Magic Carpet blooming!
The pepper sugar bacon was a real hit, the granola was shared and all agreed it was great and interesting...and I had the BEST ever Huevos rancheros..I would not share!
Just be prepared for slow service...and missing parts of your order. Good coffee
